Christina Solari has one 3-point FGA on the entire season, Chuck.

Q is right.  Serves me right for going on 'memory' rather than checking.  Not sure what I was confusing it with, but I coulda sworn Christina dropped bombs fairly frequently - and I can't find any other Titan inside presence who shoots 3's either. :-[

Sounds like it is going to be a great match-up.  I have heard many good things about the Shirk.  Obviously is top notch to be hosting the Final Four next season.

The Sherk Center is an absolutely tremendous facility. It is also the "House That Beer Nuts Built." Russell Sherk (IWU Class of '43) founded Beer Nuts Inc. Thus, I figure we in Wisconsin should own at least one wall!

They certainly deserve to host any level of tournament there, although I'm hoping UW-Eau Claire earns a chance to host again in the next couple of years. There is still no atmosphere that tops Zorn Arena when it's rocking!

IWU up 8 at the half.  36-28.

IWU holds off Point 77-64.  The Titans simply had an answer everytime Point gathered any kind of momentum.  Congrats Point on an excellent season.

Congratulations to UWSP for an outstanding season.  I was nervous right up to about 2 minutes to go, but the Titans seem to be a legitimate #1.  After consecutive double-digits wins over WW and SP (and having already beaten Wash U IN St. L. back in November), I'm now (cautiously) optimistic about winning the whole thing.

Please forgive my exuberance.  The CCIW is used to going toe-to-toe against the WIAC in men's bball, but (aside from Millikin's dream run a few years ago) we've never been much good in women's bball. :o :)

The other brackets proved to be a fluke and I don't think I'm alone when I say the championship is tomorrow night with Wash U and IWU. Winner walks to the title, period.

With out taking anything away at all from the IWU sectional, please notice that at the Thomas More sectional the #2,#3,#5, and #7 ranked D3hoops teams were together. I think the winner of tonight's Hope/George Fox game will represent well in the Final 4.

Hello from a regular over on the CCIW page.
Congratulations to UWSP for a fine season. I hadn't seen them until last night, but it was clear that they're a strong, talented team. They gave IWU a pretty good battle.
I was particularly impressed by Katie Webber : she's a marvelous athlete, a tireless runner, excellent dribbler, sharp passer and energetic defender. Her only flaw last night was that she probably should have shot more.
You Point fans can be proud of her and her teammates.

Julia Hurssig, MacKenzie Hunter and Tiffany Morton have all been named to the DIII Region 7 All District team by the Women Basketball Coaches Association.  As such the four players are finalists to be named to the 10 member WBCA's All American team which will be announced 3/19.

Congratulations George Fox on your national championship.

Final Rankings:
UW-SP #7
UW-EC #15
UW-W #17

Already excited about next year.  Looks like on paper that Stout is going to be returning a lot.  SP will return Petersen and were very deep this year.  EC could be hurting losing both starting guards, but I expect them to have people ready to step up.  I assume WW will slip Burg and Thompson into their post and do just fine with Hendrickson and Sontagg.  RF should also be a very improved team as well as those young girls are going to be a year older.

Might be a tough year for LX.  They depended so much on Hunter and Wahl, but they always seem to have a very good class coming in.

Anyone have any info on recruiting classes?  Most get finalized in the next couple weeks.

I agree with your first paragraph. RF should be interesting. I think they're adding the younger Gregorich. It's tough to get through those top four though.

WW should be fine. Have heard they've got some decent kids coming but don't know who. EC always has a good class.

La Crosse? Not sure why you say that the always seem to have a good class coming in. The fact they don't is why they'll probably struggle mightily next year.

It'll be interesting to see who's there for Oshkosh next year. If everyone comes back they're all a year older and they have some decent kids. Or do a bunch quit and they bring in a lot of new freshmen again?

I'll be curious to see who schools add as well. It usually seems like recruiting classes come in late April/early May. I think I saw a Glodowski girl at the state tournament, Claire, was going to UWSP; sorry if that's been mentioned here before.

I just thought that Coach Herron was one of the best recruiters in the conference.  I could be wrong.

The thing about Oshkosh is that Coach Ruder left that program in very tough shape when she took another job.  When Schumacher took over it had four very good seniors, and 1 good sophomore and 1 good junior.  Other than that it was pretty bare.  I believe her first class had a stud in it, but she decided that college basketball wasn't for her.  I expect her to get some kids in there pretty soon that stick with her program.

I just have a question? Why is UW-Superior always struggling? I realize the WIAC is a tremendous conference. However, it seems as if they don't really compete in the conference and have lost a lot of games over the years. I know that they have had some pretty strong candidates apply in years past, yet they cant seem to get it right! I realize that this years roster is very young so maybe, in time, they will turn it around. It's just frustrating!

I would say that Superior is the toughest place to recruit in the WIAC.
