EC up by 12 at the half over Superior

WW whipping UWO at the half

Point handling UWP

All of those teams I mentioned above that were leading at the half ended up winning comfortalby

How's this for irony?  Assuming Point beats Superior on Saturday, Point would then host River Falls who has beaten them twice!  How strange is it to host a team that has beaten you twice?

That must be the last possible team Point wants to see in the first round.

How about those Warhawks.  They have been really impressive as of late.  Huge game to determine the #2 seed (possibly #1) on Saturday when EC travels to WW.

I don't want to see River in the tourney either.  This may be one of the few times I cheer for Point all season.

Coach Keri's team has played very well all season, and I wish them nothing but the best.  At least until such time as the Lady Warhawks come to Johnson Fieldhouse - if that should happen.

Superior served as thoughtful and accommodating hosts for last night's game against UWEC. EC, taking us up on our graciousness, blistered us. They must have been shooting 150% from everywhere, and I'm surprised there's any twine left on either basket.

Superior, on the other hand, most likely weren't seeing very well. We made a couple good stabs at getting into the game, but never really came closer than ten. In the end, I think we just pooped out. The bench, I believe, played admirably, especially for a bench. Even EC's 'big' women were making outside shots look easy. What's with that? The only thing that made me uncomfortable was a couple ECers habit of keeping their hands on the player they were guarding. I imagine it made the Superior player feel a little icky, too.

I do like Burns' composure on the court. She oozes leadership.

Ah, well. Next year.

Three for three on the road and the Eau Claire game for the second seed.   That was what many of us have been hoping for.  First sweep over the Titan in 20 seasons.   Coach K's first win in the Kolf.   It certainly was a big game and the Lady WARHAWKS passed it with flying colors.

WW scored first and never trailed building leads which stood in the neighborhood of 20 points at halftime and for the all but the final couple minutes of the game.  It was undoubtedly WW's best game of the year in terms of ball control as only 5 turnovers were committed.

Hopefully we can keep this thing going with a win at home over Eau Claire Saturday.  It's a great time to be peaking.  Unfortunately I have to miss it, damned bowling Saturdays.

Unfortunately even if we did tie for the conference championship (fingers crossed) we can not obtain the #1 seed by virtue of Stout's sweep over us.  We've never hosted a tournament game and we'll be very happy with the #2 if we're fortunate enough to even the score with the BluGold.

River Falls beats LaCrosse by 13 in overtime? Did LaCrosse just leave the court after regulation? Didn't somebody tell them they had another five minutes? The second half of the season has been difficult for LaCrosse. Did they overachieve in the first half or did everyone else improve while LAX stagnated? Did LAX lose a key player or two? What did I miss.

This sounds a lot like my questions about Oshkosh. I should pay more attention outside Superior and Stout, I guess.

BW-

Should be a good game on Saturday.  Both WW and EC have been playing well.  I would assume WW would be a slight favorite.

FL-

I think Lax returned all their players from last year.  I have no idea why they are struggling so much in the 2nd half of the season.

I don't know who would be the favorite, buf.  EC handled us up there.  As you noted we're playing better now but so are they.  I'm just glad that 1. the game means something significant to the program and 2. it's on our court.

Regrettably I have to miss it, damned bowling Saturdays.  I suspect I'll be making frequent trips to the car to update myself via radio.

I look forward to seeing a very meaningful game on Sat.  Stout is in a position now of needing a win.  Plain and simple.  My guess is they will come out swinging and this one will be over early.  I am also looking forward to post game brews because they will be on your tab.  I love that.   I will be interested in your daughter's take on the game and the upcoming tournament.

EC needs some of their starters to step it up on their road games. That's been the problem all along.

We've got momentum right now....let's stick with it Lady Blugolds. We will win this road game.

The bench has come up big lately.  Muggs is hitting the 3s, Anderson is playing well inside, and a former bench player in Witt is also performing well.

An important key for EC is that Burns needs to stay out of foul trouble.  Lately, it seems that she has picked up 2 first half fouls early in the half.  EC needs her to play big minutes.  I would also like to see Heidi A be more agressive in the 1st halves.  She really turns it up in the 2nd halves.
