In regards to LaX vs. RF - First of all LaX could not hit a basket most of the first half and turned the ball over left and right.  They managed to fight back to get the game into OT, but by the end of the second half LaX had two starters fouled out of the game which I think hurt them in OT.  The officiating in this leauge is so terrible and inconsistent.  They are not the reason LaX lost, but they certainly did not help. RF is a good team - they fought till the end and they won.
I think LaX has a lot of talent, but they often get out coached.  Coach Heeren calls timeouts at times when her team has momentum going their way and doesn't call timeouts when the team is clearly struggling.  I don't get it.  Look at what happened against Superior...LaX was up by one with 7 seconds left and Superior had no timeouts, what does Lois do?  She calls a timeout, giving Superior time to set up a play which they ended up scoring on to win the game!  ???  On top of that her substituting is very questionable and I've heard she's not much of a motivator.

When the officials are missing shots and turning the ball over left and right it certainly doesn't help.  ;)

QuoteI am also looking forward to post game brews because they will be on your tab.

So, I went to the bank, took out a loan, will be ready for post game humility. I should be making the team and coaches cough up some cash for letting me down like that.

Unless LAX has mended its ways, I agree; we could probably head to the pub at halftime.

Superior at Point tomorrow. Oh, the horror.

EC needs some of their starters to step it up on their road games. That's been the problem all along.

The bench has come up big lately.  Muggs is hitting the 3s, Anderson is playing well inside, and a former bench player in Witt is also performing well.

An important key for EC is that Burns needs to stay out of foul trouble.  Lately, it seems that she has picked up 2 first half fouls early in the half.  EC needs her to play big minutes.  I would also like to see Heidi A be more agressive in the 1st halves.  She really turns it up in the 2nd halves.

Buf, you're right on all of that, but let me also add that Brit needs to perform too. She did more last year offensively than she currently is this season.

foul_language - I dont think you should head to the pub just yet...looks like my eagles are giving you a run for your money....
La Crosse and Stout tied at 49, with 11:30 in the second

Didn't listen to it but WW defeats EC 61-49.  From looking at the play by play it looks like EC played pretty decent except for the last few minutes of each half.

#1401
Eau Claire leads by as many as six through the first 17 minutes of play before WW ties on a jumper by Megan Schmidt and takes the lead, 22-20, on a pair of free throws by Tiffany Morton and never trails again.   Leading by nine, 29-20, at the half the WARHAWKS score first in the second half to go by 11.  Eau Claire cuts the lead to as little as two points with 9 minutes remaining but each time WHITEWATER has an answer and pulls away down the stretch.   Neither team shot very well.  WW made a couple more three-pointers and outscore the BluGold by ten from the free throw line.   Lindsey Buechner had a big first half and led all scorers with 18 points.  Morton also hit double figures with 13 points.  The WARHAWKS, led by freshman Dana Thompson's 7, won the rebound battle 42-36.

19-6, 12-4, sole possession of second place a game behind Stout all from a team of underclassmen picked to finish seventh.  Can you say Coach of the Year?   Admittedly Mark Thomas is a great coach and did an excellent job to win the regular season championship.  But Stout was expected to do that.  Anything less would have been underachieving.  Nobody expected what WHITEWATER and coach Carrollo did.

What say you, Champ?  ;)

LaCrosse played the way I remember them playing at Stout two(?) years ago in playoffs.  I thought Stout would wear LAX down and there would be this gradual slide; that didn't happen. I give all the credit in the world to LaCrosse; they played hard and well. Compound a very good game, senior night and clinching conference championship with net cutting, and we didn't get to the pub anywhere near halftime.

I happened to be scrolling through some MIAC boxscores and I ended up finding a familiar name.  Former EC player, Brooke Hakanson, is now playing for St. Catherine, MN.  She starts for them and led the team in scoring (15pts) and rebounding (8reb) in last week's game against the #1 MIAC team.

Hakanson has definitely been lighting it up for St. Kate's; I've seen her play quite a lot lately.  She's one of the reasons St. Kate's has secured its first-ever trip to the MIAC playoffs.

Too bad there can't be a MIAC-WIAC challenge...........

They should start it and hold it at the lacroose center! God Bless!

Saw UWO play my Pioneers yesterday. Great comeback for my team to win by 4. I will say that the officials did help the Pioneers with a few no calls at the end . UWO should have had 4 to 6 more free throws at the end. I think this is what happens when you lose 7 games in a row like UWO has. Talked to a nice person at the end of the game. Said there are some real chemistry problems between the coach and the players.  Said Coach actually left the court during one game this year! Any truth to this? Is her job in jeopardy? I did note that UWO was down to 9 players on the bench. God Bless!

I'm not sure if there are any problems at UWO.  However, it looks like Sharpee is in the coach's dog house, having not started the past few games.  She is clearly one of their better players.

Thank you buf: Good luck next week in the tournament! God Bless!

QuoteShe is clearly one of their better players

She's been underachieving as of late.

Seriously, I wonder if there is any fire or even gas in the tank anymore for Oshkosh. Losing 10 out of 11!! Yikes!
