Is there any chance of another WIAC team making the national tourney?

Congratulations to the Lady Devils!!!!!!!!!!!

WW MIGHT get in.  They are definately on the bubble.  I think they can squeeze in if there are very few upsets in the conference tourneys.  WW has the #38 best QOWI.  However, their regional record is below .75, so if they don't get in, it will probably be because of this.

Good season for EC.  With no seniors, they should again be near the top of the conference next year.

Congrats to Stout!
I think WW might make it.  The upset bug hasn't struck as badly on the women's side as it did on the men's.  Certainly will be an exciting selection day for the WIAC with two men's teams and one women's team hanging by a thread.

Great womens game to day some of the best refing I have seen in the WIAC all year

And I'm enjoying this tropical weather too!  ;)  Seriously though, did ANYONE find it a little odd that Chuck Mourning was reffing this game all while Keith Knoll was the PA guy?
Par for the course.

I'm not saying that the reffing cost EC the game.  Stout definitely played better and EC had no answer for their studs OR rotation yesterday.  However, when I saw Chuck walk onto the court I actually laughed out loud!

Well we won't make it if Pat's projections are correct and unfortunately they generally are.  It would be a nice touch but regardless this has been a great season.  The future of Lady WARHAWK basketball looks very bright.

In addition those projections were before Sunday's games.  Futher upsets today will hurt their chances even more.

This is sad considering how well our women play BB. We beat up on each other too much. Think EC is better than many teams that will get in.However, it appears that 20 is the magic number.

In all honesty I don't this year was a great year for WIAC Women's Basketball. No disrespect ... last year I really thought the top four teams would do extremely well in the tournament. This year I don't have the same feeling. Don't get me wrong, I think the teams were good and the league still among the best. But EC couldn't win on the road and Whitewater dropped a home game against a 7 seed in the tournament ... who despite what people might try to argue, weren't that good. I don't think Point or River Falls proved they had the consistency to be a team to reckon with in the playoffs.

Would anyone want to play these teams ... still probably not. I just didn't think the overall strength was what it was last year when I really thought Stout, Oshkosh, Point and maybe even La Crosse would do serious playoff damage.

I think Stout's going to be a handful for everyone in the tournament ... but let's be honest, they also lost to Finlandia this year. The WIAC wasn't exactly racking up signature non-conference victories.

You could just clear off the big lake up nort der, ya hey, and do a little stick-handling of the puck der, eh?

Ha. I love it. I actually used stick-handle the puck in a sentence!  ;)

Good stick-handling is like ballet; brings tears to my eyes.

The big lake was clean as a whistle up until yesterday. Ice fishermen cheating, because they could SEE the fish swimming around below. Not today; Highway 2 in Ashland closed a while because of blowing snow. This time, the snow got deeper as you headed west. I can't believe those flatlanders in Iowa and Illinois are getting all our snow. First they get our soil (glaciers), now they get our winter weather. What a bite!

Way to go all Geological on the butts :D Now that's how you hold a grudge, hundreds of thousands of years.

Only Stout in from WIAC.  Men only get 1 also

buf

Stout hosts a "quad."  They first play Simpson and if they win they play the winner of St. Bens/Wheaton

buf

I see Stout getting by any of these teams.  St. Ben's would probably be the toughest.  8th place UWO and 4th place Point beat Wheaton by 18 and 27 respectively earlier this year.  I think Wheaton had a couple of injuries, but still the games were not even close.

The expirence the girls had the last two years, getting bonced in the sweet 16, hopefully will motivate them to stay focused. and not take any teams lightly.  Although I do believe the first two rounds should be easily handled.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like the girls would host the sectionals if they get that far.

Women. Thank you.

Can a school host two levels?

Andrew Wagner

Didn't Point host both sectionals a few years back?
"Drew, where's that story?"
