I think the over/under for the game at Stout tonight is set at 100.  Neither team brought many fans.

WOW, waaayyyyyyy over. 149 in attendence.  What an atmosphere that must have been ;D

I can't believe more locals didn't go to the game. It should have been a good one, but without that, it would have been interesting to see how the two teams played each other. Did Simpson's strategy change from Stout to Wheaton? How far is Simpson likely to go? I see Hope lost in the first round, so they won't repeat. Who's likely to win this? Any ideas?

On the men's side, Point is still strong.

In hockey:
Point women beat Superior women last night to take the NCHA title. Damn Pointers.

Norbert pushed St Scholastica around on the ice last night. I was hoping the Saints from up north would pull a miracle out in the final five or so minutes, as they did in Superior. Place was crowded, with a kinda crappy corner for visitors. I don't know how the Norbert win affects Stout chances; I think there was some kind of mathematical opportunity for Stout to get into the next round.

Weather:
Sunny and cold.

Sunny and cold....      gotta love Wisconsin!

Any computer geeks out there? I have a wireless router problem; I've been on the phone or waiting for or participating in chatrooms for hours. I want to heave the damn thing out the window. Perhaps, though, among all you sports nuts is one computer nerd who speaks English slowly enough to help me.

Wireless routers may not have it's own basketball web site, but it's crucial to accessing same. Thus, the connection. Or, in this case, lack of.

Anyone watch much of the WIAA girls state tournament the last few days?

I've seen a few games, but haven't heard the announcers mention any seniors who are D3 prospects, and where they are possibly headed...

All-state teams were selected yesterday, too; players' colleges weren't listed there, either...

What's the word on recruits, if any???

Yes, I watched many of the games.  For the first time in years, I also did not hear the announcers mention anything about d3 college recruits.

How about that D2 title game between Grafton and New London.  Great comeback by Grafton, classic choke-job by New London.

As far as recruits, I do have a "Wisconsin Basketball Yearbook" that lists the "Fab 50" senior players college interests.  Perhaps sometime this week I can list a few that are looking at WIAC schools.

Foul.... what's the problem?
"Drew, where's that story?"

A voice in the wilderness! Thank you!

A wireless router that worked for a month and then quit working, right about the time basketball playoffs started (see, this is a basketball-related conversation). Everything I did to set it up, I redid to make it work again. The laptop says there is a strong signal and that it's connected, but when I go to the internet I get the message that the page is not available and the possible reasons are that there is no connection, among other things. If I connect directly to the modem, I get internet. It looks like the signal is getting caught up in the router and the router is not releasing it. Possibly a mixed setting? But, why work for a month and then quit?

Sounds a bit like some teams, but that's beside the point.

Good stuff, buf...

I was really impressed with Sheboygan North's Kayla Teschlag, who is headed to UWGB... Smart/court-savvy player; she could probably step in and contribute heavily on a D3 team in her freshman season... Reminds me of Point's Andrea Kraemer, from that 2002 championship team...

What does your yearbook say on Teschlag? Had she settled on GB in that book?

Just Bill

Great week for Whitney Tyriver.  She makes third team All-Central region on D3Hoops.com and she is named a finalist for the Comeback Award by the V Foundation.  Read on...

Yes, she had committed to UWGB before her senior season.

Stout's Kelsey Duoss repeats as a member on the NCAA Division III Kodak/WBCA All-America Basketball 10-player team...

UWEC recruit, as reported in the La Crosse Tribune:
Ashley Hightower, a 5'8" guard who played on the La Crosse Logan team that lost to Sheboygan North in the state semi finals... She as an honorable mention selection in D1 in the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches All-State team, and was considered the Rangers' defensive stopper... Heading into the tournament, she was second on her team in points and rebounds,  averaging 10.4 ppg and 5.4 rebounds, plus a team-leading 1.9 assists per game...
