To Buf: Thank you for the positive update! To those of us who like womens BB, we all have know detractors of the sport. if you want to see a classic, go see the KR posting on the MIAAC Foot ball site. it is a couple of pages old. A few of you guys could let him know what you think. i am tired of doing it alone. God Bless!

I think that fb site is the last refuge for men who are secretly afraid of women. Big talkers, in a purely compensatory way

FL -

It appears the men's program is picking up some decent recruits.  Any activity on the women's side for Superior?

Tidbits:

WEAU TV13 in Eau Claire reported that Lucy Dernovsek has selected a D2 school, Michigan Tech. Had been considering UWEC, among others...

I believe I saw in the La Crosse paper that La Crosse Logan guard Ashley Hightower has selected UWEC...

Last, but not least, the Stevens Point Journal reports that Pointer head coach Shirley Egner had preliminary talks over the weekend for the D1 coaching vacancy at UWGB...

You mentioned that she was going to EC in your March 17th post.

And yes... EC lost out on Dernovsek.  That would have been a great pickup.  Probably the best player in Northwest Wisconsin this past season.

Rico--
I actually got all my recruiting information about the men's team from Hoops. Isn't that sad? I know Mulhern has been doing some heavy-duty traveling and has had some recruits on campus, but I haven't heard anything about commitments. I've been tempted to drop him a line in a casual sort of way to see how things are going...

How would Shirley do in Green Bay? Does she have a chance at the job? Who else would have a shot? The GB paper suggested the school was looking at someone from the school Borseth came from--Michigan Tech?

Brand new facility for whoever gets the job.

Egner probably is still a bit down the list ...

But the job has re-open. Johnston resigned an hour before the press conference ala Borseth a few years back.

The Michigan Tech head coach is probably the new front runner.

I hope to see those U of Dubuque women in playoffs. BEST of luck to Mark Noll in Iowa.

Noll will have his work cut out for him, but it appears that UD has landed a heck of a coach!
To succeed, one must be creative and persistent.  John H. Johnson

Best of luck to Coach Noll.  Stout's losing a class individual.

UW-L's Sarah Stachula tragically died in a car accident early Sunday morning in Milwaukee.

I wanted to write and pass on my condolences to her family, friends, and teammates and I knew some you regular would probably like to do the same. The story has not been extremely public, especially on the west side of the state, but she was really nice girl who sadly has passed away way too young.

Rest in peace Sarah.

A very nice article about Sarah.  I'm so sorry to the UW-L community and Sarah's family for their loss.
