Well, the argument begins, from where we discussed a bit earlier...3 teams in? You have to think WW is in no matter what. EC and SP are a toss up because they're relatively even in region and W-L. Now obviously the winner of the game goes with the auto bid, but what of the loser?

I would think losing would hurt worse for EC in the championship but either way, nothing is a guarantee (again, see SP 20-5 in 2002-03; snubbed by committee after winning national title previous year).

What are your thoughts...especially you stat folks...

Great win for Point. On the road, sounds like they controlled the game from the tip.

I believe there are more teams in the tourney now then there was in 2002-2003.  I would hope that this quality conference gets 3 but if I was EC or UWSP I would make sure I played my best game so there was no doubt.  I think with the win by UWSP tonight they would be in regardless but you never know.

WW is in and has been for awhile now.

With EC's win tonight, I believe they are a lock.

With Point's win tonight, I believe they are also a lock.  If they would have lost tonight, I still think they would have had a probable chance of making it in.

I think STP being 2-1 against WW will carry a lot of weight.  I think all three will get in regardless of Saturday, but Saturday's loser will have some anxious moments.

Didn't expect to see both benches emptied at the end tonight, considering the last time these two teams met, but the Blugolds win convincingly, 86-61, by clamping down on defense, and really cranking up the offense vs. Stout...

Perhaps the 'Golds most complete game of the season, too; they may be peaking at just the right time, with the Pointers, who have been playing really well down the stretch, coming to Zorn on Saturday...

Keys for the 'Golds win tonight were Stout's shooting percentage in the first half (12 of 37 for 32%), which enabled UWEC to take a 48-29 lead into half... Blugolds shot well, too, (60 percent on the night) and drained five of seven threes the first half... If they get that kind of shooting, and play with the type of execution and ball movement like they did tonight...

Julia Hirssig had 20 for the Blue Devils, but they didn't have anyone else to step up; no one else scored in double figures... She also had 13 boards...

WIAC POY candidate Michelle Burns led the 'Golds with 27, but Heather Witt played well, too, scoring 13, with a career high 10 assists... She and Missy Fremstad were able to handle the Blue Devil's press all evening... Heidi Aricszewski, who went off for 30 against Stout last game, chipped in 11 tonight...

It's been fun to watch this team progress and mature this year; the players seem focused, have a lot of balance, and have a comfort zone in playing at Zorn, where they have won 30 of their last 32... Good, noisy crowd tonight, too...
