Platteville has the top rusher in the conference in Puccini, but they basically abandoned the running game in the second half...only rushed for 68 yards (3.1 avg) total for the game. I guess they have no other running back on that team.

Time to heal the injuries to Kummerow and go back to work next week vs SP.

Pville giving the game to WW today.
Thought I was watching FL State/Jameis for a minute

Or you could say UWW is taking the game from Platteville with superior defense!  ;D
Didn't look like it - unforced errors!

OK, genius...an unforced error is what?  Like when the WR or back is running clear of everybody at the 5 yard line, starts his TD celebration by holding the ball up in the air, but, without contact from the defense, inexplicably drops it and the defense trailing the play falls on it or the ball rolls out of the EZ for a touchback. That would be an unforced error, IMO. Explain exactly how a WR catches a 13 yard pass, then, when struggling to gain a few extra yards is hit by two LB'ers at nearly the same time from 2 different directions, loses the ball on the ground and one of the two LB's falls on top of it before the WR can. Even the official play by play reads, "...fumble forced by Justin Dishler..." The INT was a 3rd and 10 from the 11 yard line. The Platteville QB throws to the first down marker/goal line on a slant pass he's had reasonable success with all day and probably felt good about completing again. The DB (Grayvold) reads the play, steps up and picks it at the goal line. In your view, that is a unforced error, too? Good grief...did you actually see the 2 plays, Einstein, or just trolling through at the moment? Two quality, heads up plays by the defense.

Wartknight please become silent knight from now on when you feel the need to comment about football, something you obviously don't know much about!!

I actually came back to comment on Wartknight's post but I guess you had it more than covered Bobo! Same scenario every year on the Boards. Excited fans of teams who are nearing the playoffs begin dismissing the way UW-W wins to give them hope that their team might be as good as UW-W. If this game was luck, then UW-W gets lucky a LOT because it was a formula often used over the years in games that are competitive. This game was far more prototypical UW-W than last week's game against Oshkosh.

retagent

As the resident idiot, let me posit what might be considered an unforced error. Center snaps the ball when the QB is not ready, and it gets free, and is recovered by defensive team. Another, QB and RB get signals crossed and run into each other causing the ball to squirt free - recovered by defense.. Or.. QB throws ball to where he thinks receiver is going to be based on the play called, and throws it right into the waiting arms of a DB. I could probably come up with more, but they're coming with the straight jacket.

BoBo

Hey retagent, sorry about being a knob earlier...shouldn't have called you an idiot - you contribute well to this board, but I don't like when someone comes on praising their team with a score - it seems like taunting to me and you needed to get flagged for it. I would never go to the MIAC in-game board to do the same about the Warhawks. So, sorry...no hard feelings!!

Lighten up Francis - geez. I should have ended my post with a smiley face so you didn't get your panties in a bunch. I didn't take the time to edit my post-was just ending the day @ the office checking scores, etc & getting my D3 fix......also-don't feel the need to defend my football knowledge.
I have the utmost respect for the WW program & what they have accomplished. As a life long Bear fan, I appreciate good defense (I wll take the 5th this year :() WW obviously has one of the best & is a huge part of why they're so successful.

Guess I need to start patrolling the in-game update boards to keep people from getting at each other's throats. Wonderful.

Thanks BoBo. Will undo my "-" on you. I was just trying to show a weird - IMO - coincidence between the 2 games where both teams stuggled early, but overcame a poor start. No harm, no foul.

Really funny that some sensitive soul can't even stand on their own merit, but find it necessary to call upon you to act as their message board policeman.  Sad actually.

Not to disparage your role Pat, but, for the most part, we can police ourselves, as BoBo and I just did. What we say in the "heat of battle" can be an emotional outburst that we regret when we become more rational. As I said before, "no harm no foul."

Agree
I try not to take things too serious, especially on a D3 football message board. ..........Hey call me ignorant again as I am also a big Cub fan: new manager - "wait till next year". ;D
