OK, BV is all over the place this year! They shock me by beating Simpson, then lose to a 2-9 Coe team?

I think the Kohawks will prove to be much better than their 2-9 record is showing right now come the end of the season.

Hope BV can rebound tonight at Central after a disappointing home loss on Saturday.

Another Big win for the Kohawk women tonight.  Trailing 52-44 with 6:35 to play, they rolled off 13 straight points to finish the game and win 57-52.  Congrats to Coach Peterson and the Kohawks!

Storm-what?

What is going on in Storm Lake? Why is BV at the bottom of the conference with their only victory being over the #1 team?

BVHawk

You left out Who, Where, When, and How.

For statistical answers:

Coe shot twice as many free throws and made 70% of them, BV made 53% of theirs.  Coe had more rebounds.  BV shot a blazing 29% for the game.

Central forced 26 BV turnovers and hit 75% of their free throws compared to BV's 61%.  Central also made twice as many 3 pt. fieldgoals.

If I had any other answers, I'd be the coach!

Storm-what?

It doesn't matter who, what, when where. I get that those are factors. My question is HOW? How is Central forcing so many turnovers, how is BV only making 53% from the free throw line. I get that they lost, and that their stats sucked those games. But, my question is how do they go from one of the conference favorites to these horrible stats? Do they lack senior leadership this year? Experience?

Dubuque over Central 78-77 Dubuque with a tip in with 4 seconds left.  2-1 in the IIAC for the Spartan women with both of their wins by 1 point.

BV looks to be waiting until the conference tournament to make their move!

Luther women put a beat down on the Dubuque women 73-35

Apparently the Dubuque women either win a close one at the buzzer or let the game get out of hand.

Coe wins another thriller, 57-55 over Clarke.  That's three straight wins and winners of 4 of the last 5.  Coach Peterson has the Kohawks on the right track....

Storm-what?

Simpson coming off a loss- Coe coming off 3 wins- maybe it's going to be a game in the Cowles Fieldhouse tonight?????

Charlie Kohawk

Apparently not. Looks like turnovers (33-14) doomed the Kohawks, who took 14 fewer shots than Simpson and made 13 fewer. Nice game by Lindemann though, and 91% freethrows is encouraging.
4 IIAC football championships
8 NCAA football playoff appearances
13 straight wins over Cornell in the oldest football rivalry west of the Mississippi

Charlie- you are digging pretty deep for a silver lining if you go to the "we shot a good percentage at the free throw line" talk.  A 30 point loss is a 30 point loss.  I think that the young Kohawks showed tonight that while much improved, they still have a LONG way to go.  However, I think that will continue to improve and make the conference tourney.

BVHawk

Looked like Simpson was rolling.

I have a feeling that the battle for the 5 and 6 seed in the conference will come down to the last week.

If you haven't seen the Storm play in person, they are pretty impressive.  While the Kohawks have looked good the past few games, they were no match inside for the Storm.  There is a reason Simpson is ranked now and was ranked higher earlier in the season...
