Tom Thanks for the advice. What are the roads like weather wise?

Pat Coleman

Down to Luther from Minneapolis that road is pretty good in the winter. South of Decorah I make no such claims about 52. :)

The last time I was on 52 was December, 2005. There was a detour, IIRC, between Rochester and the MN/IA border that took you an additional 15-20 miles out of the way (Pat, you were in the car then -- I was driving -- was it really all that bad?). Outside of that detour the road is very good. US Highways (which is was 52 is) are taken care of very well in Minnesota.

It's about a 2-2.5hr journey and varies from 2-lane (in the metro) to three-lane in Rochester to 1-lane most of the way past Rochester. As long as we don't get pummeled again by snow (three weekends in a row would definitely be overkill even by Minnesotan standards) the roads should be quite good.

Through the prairie, though, the winds can pick up a bit.

I hope I have been of help.

Pat Coleman

Ahem.

His driving actually was all that bad. :)

Storm-what?

Simpson trails 29-41 at half. The Storm are a great second half team though so it's not over!

It was 23-25 with about 4 minutes left in the first half and NYU got really got- hitting 7-9.

Let's go Storm with a great second half!

Storm-what?

Simpson's season ends in the Sweet 16. Sounds like NYU really played tough defense, Storm couldn't ever get a solid run together.

Losing only one senior, so hopefully Simpson will return next year and strong as ever.

Great season girls!!!

WLCALUM83

Puget Sound pulled off a mild upset of Howard Payne.

Wash U at Luther just underway:

WLCALUM83

Wash U & Luther are tied at 16 with 9:50 left in 1st.

WLCALUM83

Luther 31, Wash U 30--halftime.

WLCALUM83

Approx. 11 minutes left in 2nd:  Luther 47, Wash U 41.

WLCALUM83

Wash-U 59, Luther 58--final:

Wash U was able to take the crowd out of the game, for the most part. The Bears' 15-2 (or approx.) scoring run late gave them just enough cushion to work with. They missed several free-throws, a last-second 3-point shot by Luther missed.

Good run for Luther, none-the-less.  ;)

(How much of a turnout will there be for the Puget Sound/Wash-U game tomorrow? If the Loggers keep the score lower, the better their chances.)

Congratulations to both Simpson and Luther for fine post season runs.
