Storm-what?

Huge as in tall! They had a few behemoths on that team!

Central is still struggling in the won-loss column this year, but the ladies have the young players that I can see turning the program around.  Clark and Waddell from Guthrie Center are playing like seasoned veterans and there are lots of other talented young ladies that will help bring home some wins.  Congratulations to Jordan W on two staight games with 6 3-pointers!  You make it look easy!

It will be really interesting to see what happens with Simpson next year. They are pretty stacked all around and they do play a lot of girls, but they are losing 3 key contributors. That's never easy to rebound from. No doubt about it they will still be good but not sure about Sweet 16 good? I hope so!

To all you IIAC fans-
What about the midnight practice that the 'burg had after its loss at Cornell?
I heard that Donohue quit after that, what's up with Midnight Madness in the middle of
January?

Dubuque wins at home over Wartburg 58-52  I was able to listen to bits of the 2nd half and it sounds like the 6 point lead at the end was about the biggest lead either team had all night.

Looks like Wartburg's soft non-conference schedule didn't prepare them for the
most balanced IIAC in a long time.

Coe over Cornell
Simpson over BV

Thanks for the updates and welcome to the board!!!

Thanks, it's great to be here.
Ok, this weekend there are some teams who need to step up their games or risk falling
too far behind Simpson & Luther for the top two seeds in the tourney.
Here are my picks for Saturday:

BV over UD
Wartburg over Central
Simpson over Loras
Luther over Coe

It's also nice to have someone on here who seems pretty current and up to date on the womens side of the game.  There hasn't been quite as much talk on here this year as last.  You might be able to get things going again on here.  Sounds like you have some first hand knowledge from the Wartburg side of things.  I am a Dubuque fan but have no insiders knowledge of anything going on over there.  Just an IIAC fan in general.

I'm also an IIAC fan, and have connections to friends that attend some the conference schools, so I hear some of the scuttlebut from certain teams.  I would think that a midnight practice could spread to possible recruits and really turn them off of going to Wartburg.  That may open the door for UD, Loras, Coe, Cornell, and Luther to get some of those kids right in Wartburg's backyard.  Anyway it seems that the teams that have the winning tradition get the players to come regardless.  It will be interesting to see what shakes out the rest of the season in Waverly.

Also heard that some fans at Loras are not crazy about their interim coach, any word on that?

Peace out

Wow, BV really looked like they were struggling at Simpson last night. Simpson easily handled them and that was with the 5 startes sitting on the bench almost the entire second half.

I think BV has some chemistry issues.  From what I've heard and seen it looks like Muhlbauer does her own
thing and the others try to play together.  I don't things are peachy in Storm Lake.

I think Simpson is probably the best team judging by the way they are beating people, haven't seen them
yet.  Can they go undefeated through the IIAC Tourney?

"Simpson is probably the best team.."

Yes, they are definitely the best team and I feel confident they will coast through the IIAC tourney. They are experienced, athletic, quick and very deep. Pending a MAJOR they won't stumble until the post season. And if indeed they host regional play, which would be likely, I have a feeling they will make some noise in the post season again. Last year's team went Sweet 16 and this team is stronger than that.

Too bad about BV. Muhlbauer can definitely shoot but man, just watching her play it looks like she has a major attitude problem. She comes off exactly as you described- cocky and a ball hog.

Wow!  Haven't checked this page in awhile and all of sudden it's hopping!  Pretty strong accusations about certain programs.  Do you play in the conference? Or coach in the conference?  It looks like it is going to be a fun race down the stretch for 2nd-9th!!
