I don't coach or play in the conference, but I have friends that attend some of the IIAC schools, so I hear
these things from them.  Also I'm not accusing anybody of anything, just trying to find out what's happening at the schools to see if what I'm hearing is true.
The second time through the conference schedule should be interesting with a fight for the second seed in the tourney coming in the Coe-Luther game Saturday.  If Luther wins I think they should be able to get the second seed even if they don't beat Simpson.  If Coe wins I think they are going to have rely on Norris to carry them.  Their outside shooters have been very inconsistent by looking at the stats.
Anyway should be a great race to the finish!

Looks like Amber Karkosh did the carrying tonight as the Kohawks snapped Luther's four game winning streak.  Big win for the Kohawks!

Saw the stats of the Coe-Luther game.  Luther scored 12 points in the 2nd half?  What happened?
Now Coe & Luther are tied for 2nd place it's getting very interesting.

It is getting interesting.  How did Coe hold them to 12 points in the 2nd half?  I was at the Simpson-Loras game.  Simpson is a very good team, they have alot of depth!  Dubuque & Wartburg got big wins yesterday.  13 three's hit by Wartburg in the boxscore, wow!

Looks like the addition of Noll at Dubuque has really helped.  They already have more wins overall and in conference than last year's more veteran team.

As a fan of the WIAC, I got to see what he accomplished at Stout.  Which should bode well for Dubuque, especially when he gets his recruits in.  I know of a few good Wisconsin kids that are heading to play there next year.

The IIAC seems to have a lot of parity this year, which is great for that conference.  As with the WIAC, it is great to see many of the teams able to win on any given night (see UW-Oshkosh vs UW-Stevens Point score from Saturday!!)

Any predictions for Wednesday's games?

Any predictions for Wednesday's games?

It's gonna be cold!!!  Oops, that's a prediction on the weather, not the games.  I will only predict a rowdy atmoshere at the Loras Fieldhouse or AWC or whatever they are calling their place now.  The better team will win...I just don't know who that team will be!!! But Go Spartans...regardless if they win or lose

Simpson Homer

Predictions for tonight

Coe by 3 over Wartburg
Loras gets back on track over UD by double digits
Luther defense too good for BV, norse by 12
Cornell slips by Central by 5

after seeing most teams in ia conf don't see simpson losing. too talented and too deep. haven't been tested by conf yet but at luther only challenge
Marge: Homer, the plant called. They said if you don't show up tomorrow don't bother showing up on Monday.
Homer: Woo-hoo. Four-day weekend.

Big win for the Kohawk women tonight.  They continue to struggle in the first half, but never go away in the second half.

Congrats to Amber Karkosh for scoring her 1,000th career point tonight.  Too bad she didn't play  her freshman year.

My predictions on Saturday's games:

Simpson big over UD
BV wins a close one over Coe
Loras by 10 at Central
Luther by 10 at Cornell
Wartburg is off this weekend.

My predictions on Saturday's games (lovely Iowa weather with all road teams will spending extra time on the traveling could play into the hands of the home teams today, but here goes):

#6 Simpson closer than expected against UD (the Storm have the depth to go very far in the tourney folks)
Coe vs. BV goes into overtime with BV winning by 3
Central wins at home, the Duhawks are slipping down the IIAC standings
Luther over Cornell
Wartburg is staying warm on their weekend off

Kudos to Luther for trying video streaming. I heard maybe the conference is going to stream all the teams next year? Hmmm watch online or go out when the weather dips to -40 wind chill, not sure if I would pay to watch though as rumored. Just a thought, but maybe the conference should spend money for better officiating around the league. Not one to comment, but it's been more noticeable for the women sports this school year.

doolittledog

I know the Midwest Conference and also the D-II NSIC Conference used video streaming in the last year.  I would think the IIAC talked to those conferences and decided it would be a benefit to try it.

I might try it for a football game or two.  Maybe for a basketball game or two but that would be about it.  Or should I say that is probably all my wife would allow me to do.
