The Cornell @ Dubuque w/m games are postponed.  That's the only one I've seen so far.

Looks like I don't get to spend tonight listening in on my computer.  Oh well, hopefully the make up date is soon.

Today's Loras and Coe w/m games are postponed for today and will be made up tomorrow night at the same times, 6/8.

Big games for both teams men and women jostling for position within the Iowa Conference standings!

In the only women's game tonight, BV beats Wartburg by 18 at Wartburg.  Does anyone have details on
the game?

Games from Thursday:

Coe over Loras 66-61
UD beats Cornell by 20, 59-39 (Cowan didn't play)
Simpson smashes Central by 79, 120-41

If anyone is curious, I was 4-0 on the Wednesday games.

Simpson/Central...yikes!!!

Storm-what?

Yikes is right! Simpson broke several school records last night, including most points ever scored and most rebounds. And like usual, the starters didn't get to play that much.

In a way I feel bad for them- they are so good they have to sit on the bench all the time or else it looks like the coach is running the score up!  ;)

Did Simpson play that well or did Central play that bad?

Has Simpson got THAT much better or as Central got THAT much worse???  The Dutch weren't a bad team last year were they???

Anytime your margin of victory is double what your opponant scored that is most definately a whuppin.

I think that Simpson has sent a message to the rest of the league that they are
going roll through the rest of the regular season and the iiac tourney.  Looking at
tomorrow's games this is what I think:

BV over Cornell
Coe over Dubuque in a tight game, might come down to the last shot
Simpson big over luther, the norse can't score over 60pts on a night & Simpson
had that at half last night....a bad storm rollin' into decorah!
Loras gets a win at home over the 'Burg

Storm-what?

Honestly, both. Simpson is definitely better than last year and Central is worse. To theircredit, they play a lot of of freshmen, but still, they aren't going to be making any noise in the next few years. The only chance a great player from Central has is to transfer to Simpson. Ha,  only kidding.

When you watch Simpson play this year, it's like they just have everything together. They anticipate each other, rebound like crazy, and don't miss many shots, period. It's going to take a good, big team to beat them. (which is about everyone once you hit the postseason). And if Simpson hosts regional (they probably will) it will be a big advantage- the home crowd can really add some energy when it's needed.

Simpson goes down...Wow!

Coe clinches a berth in the IIAC Tourny with an easy win at Dubuque....

Simpson lost...unbelievable!!! The one thing on that near perfect team that needed work was their ability to shoot free throws, and it came back to bite em in the ass (16-of-29 compared to Luther's 27-of-34). Great game by TeKippe with 25 and 9. Franker...10 TOs? Wow!

Even so, this loss shouldn't hurt the Storm too much heading into tourney time. If anything, it'll give them a wake up call and let them know that they aren't as invincible or ill-challenged as they may have thought.

Congrats to Coe on the win. Randi Peterson has done a phenomenal job in just her second season!! It's nice to see a program make such big strides like this in the IIAC!
