BV hosts Cornell tonight.  Hoping for a lopsided victory!

Best wishes to Monica Severson as she steps down at Wartburg. She was a credit to Knight athletics and a classy person. She met my son at the regional softball tournament at Coe last spring and remembered him when we went to the Coe-Wartburg football game in Waverly. I was impressed. Wartburg's loss is the Iowa Conference's loss.
4 IIAC football championships
8 NCAA football playoff appearances
13 straight wins over Cornell in the oldest football rivalry west of the Mississippi

The Show

Back-to-back IIAC MVP campaigns for Buena Vista's Katie Maguire. Congratulations!!!

Good luck to Simpson in the NCAA's.

I don't think anyone's surprised that Katie won MVP for the second year in a row!

This conference is hosting the first and second rounds of the NCAAs for the region, and BV and Coe are the only schools (barely) represented on the board?  What gives?

St. Ben's fans will be seen in strong numbers in the Simpson area this weekend, and we were hoping that we'd find some hint of energy from the fans of the "other red team".

Go Blazers!

The Show

There was a Simpson guy on here earlier in the year I thought...

Good luck finding some energy down in Indianola for women's hoops, it should help that it's on a Friday night.

I'll predict Simpson by 5.

The Show

For the two or three people who read this board...Simpson wins tonight 73-70.

The Champ

Does Simpson have an internet radio feed for the game tomorrow?  I'll be driving down to the game, but there are many on the WIAC Central Region board that would like to listen if someone could post a link.

Thanks in advance if someone can help out!

Collegeville Magic

Congrats to Simpson on a great game last night.  My Blazers couldn't quite pull it out in the end, and it was definitely a classic of a first round game!  Too bad our teams couldn't have met later in the tourney...

I hope tonight's clash between Simpson and Stout is a decent game.  I predict Simpson by 12.

I just saw that the Coe job was posted on the NCAA site. Does anyone know where Coach Brunner is going?

Charlie Kohawk

Melissa Bruner is leaving Coe, her alma mater, to become director of women's basketball operations at Florida State. Congratulations coach!

There's a lot of excitement around Coe about the new women's basketball coach and assistant AD, Randi Peterson.

Storm-what?

Maybe too early to talk basketball? But, I'm gonna have to go with the Storm again this year! They did lose some seniors, but still have a ton of great players, and a great coach as well! Some good new recruits will help also!

BVHawk

Probably a tad early to start talking women's hoops.

Actually, I think there's only 3 of us who know this board exists anyway.
