Any info on Warturg? Just curious as to how Amsberry is doing in Waverly......

BVHawk

Havn't heard much on Wartburg yet, probably won't (besides box scores) until the conference season begins.

Ghost of MIAC Past

Wartburg will play hard this year, but they are definitely undersized in the post.  The guards can shoot, but if they don't estabilish an inside presence, teams will never back off their shooters in order to give the guards time to shoot  I think they'll play a lot more zone than they would like to, but we'll see.  They should be a middle of the pack kind of team.

BV dropped it's opener to Wittenberg 88-71 at the Midway Classic out in Chicago.

They dominated the consolation game 83-52 over Kalamazoo.

Storm-what?

Congrats to the Simpson women on a convincing few wins to start the season. Took the crown at their first tournament.

Oh, and for waht it's wroth, I think the football coach should get one more season to prove something. This was a bad year, but the recruting numbers have been good (well, quantity, not sure about start athletes), 3 years ago they were in the playoffs, so, I say one more year to see if it was a fluke.

UD over UW-Platteville yesterday.........................

Storm-what?

Simpson starts off 4-0, including a nice win against UW LaCrosse.
Go Storm!  :o

Big game for BV/Luther. I imagine BV will be tough, but is noticing the lsos of Maguire???

Simpson dominated Loras. (any suprise?) Every player on the bench saw plenty of minutes. That's hard to defend against- and if definitely wears the opponents down. Look forward to a BV/Simpson on Jan 3rd. Too bad it's in Storm Lake!! :-\ That's a hike- even for the faithful!

After the Mississippi River Challenge UD is off to a 5-1 start. Too bad they haven't really played anyone.............Dominican & Alverno are extremely weak teams. Martin Luther, Clarke, and Concordia(loss) are mediocre at best. A quality win over UW-Platteville shows hope but we'll have to take a look at the conference games to determine whether this is a legit squad.

I also saw that Sears is playing again for Loras. Has she been effective? I know the back problems have been a serious concern for her.

Storm-what?

I was curious if UD was really any better? 5-1 is not a bad start. Of Simpson's 5 wins, 3 were to teams that made the tournament last year.
I don't recall ANY player being that impressionable from Loras. I remember hearing Bennett's (something like that) name a lot. There used to be some incredible Sears boys out of Ankeny that were athletes. Any idea if this Sears is from the same clan?

primetime

Is the Reisor girl from Luther hurt or did she quit? From their season preview it sounded like she would be playing a lot, which would make their guard court really good.

BVHawk

What year is she?

BV lost a tough one in their opener to Luther 76-68.  However, if you have 28 turnovers, you shouldn't win against a good team.
