Any predicitons for tonights games in conference?  How are conference teams looking so far.  I haven't been able to watch any as of yet.

I'm going to try and head down to take in the Central-Wartburg game, as long as I-35 is good enough to drive on :) .

Congrats to Wartburg's Abbey Hempen on making the D3 Team of the week!

Loras ladies beat cross town rival Dubuque 69-62.  Loras had a 12 point lead cut to 4 points with about a minute to go and then hit a whole bunch of free throws down the stretch.  Would be nice if the UD announcer wasn't so much of a Loras homer...but that's what you get in Dubuque.  I suppose I should just be happy they broadcast the games at all.

Not sure if anyone will challenge Simpson this year...wartburg having a good year...but simpson is the class of the conference...

That they did. Their D took the Knights out early. Congrats.

Does anyone know if U of Dubuque has completed its varsity gym?

They were still working on it when I was there September 6th.

Football broadcast from this weekend say it is complete and the first volleyball games were played in there this past week.

When I was at a UD for a basketball game in Feb.  I thought that space had the potential to be the best  varsity venues in the conference.  I was briefly looking around UD's Web site for pictures, didn't see any.

Is it too early to post predictions?

UD needs to do a better job of putting up pictures of their building projects.  The stadium webcam is great, and I look at it every day.  But it would be nice to see some pics of the work on the basketball arena as well.

Never too early to post predictions.  We need the chatter on here!!!

Pursuant to my comments of Oct. 28,2008?
I was impressed with the Varsity Arena at University of Dubuque.  A little cramped on the ends but I think it is a really nice basketball venue.

CoeHawks win third straight. Keep it up.

Yeah, but it seats less people than the old place.  I suppose if they have better locker rooms and concessions areas then maybe it was a good thing.  Otherwise...why go to the bother of doing it???

Dubuque women keep Cornell winless in conference play.  Spartans win at home 70-67...I was able to watch the last 8 seconds...so can't really tell you much about the game.

Kohawk Krazy

What a huge week for the Kohawks.  Just over a week ago they were 1-4 in the conference, now thanks to a 4-game week, they have won 4-straight games and are back in the thick of a top 3 finish in the conference.  Wednesday night should be a good game with the Beavers.

Wartburg wins by 2 in OT over Dubuque.  My wife and I were planning on making this game but my sister was unable to babysit.  Watching on the computer from home I was very impressed by the wartburg production.  Multiple cameras, the two pbp kids did a good job, even had a sideline reporter.  Job well done by the Wartburg crew, very impressed.

Klompen

Congratulations to the Central Dutch on an exciting, come-from-behind win against the Beavers today.  Nice job ladies!  Last second shot wins it and makes it a sweep over the BV women this year.  We have not yet turned the corner, but to win both games against a good team is a job well done.

Looks as if it is going to be an interesting conference finish in the Iowa Conference.  I was at the Luther game last night and they really took it to Simpson.  Surprised me, because I hadn't seen Simpson in person but I knew they had a high ranking.  Should make for a good finish!

Kohawk Krazy

How about them Kohawks?  Nothing like laying the wood to Luther just days after they upset Simpson.  Watch out for the Kohawks down the stretch...
