Thanks, Bird Dog, good to hear that it is not unanimously believed that the injuries were intentional.  I wasn't watching the video, so I only had KK word on what happened.  Like you, it would be good to see the video to be able to know for sure.  Maybe KK has more inside insight, I don't know, but it doesn't sound like the Dutch, even though I can't say that it didn't happen.

I can believe that they are really feeling frustrated because they did start the year very competitive.  I was not at the first Simpson game, but from what I gathered, we gave them more than they could handle for most of the game.  Going only downhill from there has to be hard.  For their sake, it is good that the season is ending.  Time to regroup, practice hard in the off season and get after it again next year.  They are really great ladies and it has to be hard on all of them.  Hopefully the tide will turn our way.

I hope that both of the injured ladies will be okay.

I heard both girls were at practice last night I doubt they particpated but I don't know for sure.

I would like to comment on Coe's Rolston and Brockhaus.  Rolston starts and Brockhaus has been her backup.  Rolston played only 10 min and had 8pts. in the Central game.  She was playing very well and couldn't be stopped inside.  Rolston goes out Central thinks it is getting a reprieve.  In comes Brockhaus and lights it up for 16 pts.

Both are undersized in height but use exceptional footwork and strength to impose themselves on the opposition. They have played against some very good 6'+ girls and aquitted themselves very well.

In closing I hope the surgery went well for the woman that was injured by the Mechanical Bull.  May you have a speedy recovery and cheering for Coe soon.

LA RAMS

A big congrats to Coe for winning their first-ever IIAC regular season title by virtue of their win over BV today that also gets them the #1 seed in the IIAC playoffs next week.  Good luck, Kohawks.

Congratulations to Coe!  That is quite an accomplishment!   Best of luck to all of the teams in the tourney, as for the Dutch, I think we are just glad to see the season end.  Last night's finish was reflective of the way the season went.  Down 2 points with almost 30 seconds left and the Dutch have the ball.  Just as we had a gal in position to score the tying shot, the coach calls time out to plan a last shot and prevents a close up bucket.  With no time outs left, they couldn't get the ball in and threw it to a Cornell player.  Game over, another loss.  These girls are the hard luck ladies.  Maybe with a fresh start next year and healthy players they can start to turn things around.  One has to hope.  Congratulations to Central's two seniors on sticking with it, if not achieving success.  Best of luck to all of the seniors who played their last game or will in the upcoming week.

Conference tourney starts tonight...

#6 Loras @ #3 Wartburg 7 p.m.
#5 Dubuque @ #4 Buena Vista 7 p.m.

Funny to see the Wartburg men travel to Loras, while the Loras women travel to Wartburg.  Wartburg women are the better team here and get a win on their home court.

Homer pick alert!  Klompen says I need to have more faith.  So with that in mind...BVU women enter this game over confident after putting a whuppin on the Lady Spartans a week ago.  The Lady Spartans come out dropping three pointers from all over the place and open up a big lead that the BVU women have no answer for.  Wow, that felt good to write that :D

Home court advantage is so crucial to this tournament. BV and Simpson IMO are the two toughest places to play in the IIAC. I'll take Wartburg and BV in tonight's games.

Doolittle, did you see that UD finished the season 6th in the nation for 3pt shots made per game?

That was for the men though!  Women, I have no idea, spent too much of the season avoiding the games.   :'(

Hey Simpson, er Homer,  oops I mean  Doolittledog.  I have to work tonight and can't watch the game.  Good luck.  I will be three quarters of the way to Storm Lake.  I'm at Fort Dodge scouting the Sioux City North against Ames game.  The team I scout for will probably get beat tonight which means it will be a wasted trip.

Question?  We never hear from a Beaver fan.  Do they have internet out there?

Klompen

Out there they have a wireless campus and free laptops, guess nobody knows how to use them though.   :D :D :D

hoop_junkie...as much as I like stats, I had not noticed that the UD women were 6th in the nation in 3 point shots made per game.  I will look those stats up though.

Bird Dog, thanks for sending luck the Spartans way.  Drive safely tonight.  Roads are a nightmare between Reinbeck and La Porte City.  I imagine they are a lot worse out west where you are trying to get to.

Klompen, tell your mens team to prepare for a motivated UD mens team on Thursday ;)

I was just getting ready to leave work.  I pulled up the IGHSAU page.  The game
was postphoned.  I hope they have the BV vs. Dub game on web cam.  I don't think I can pick up their smoke signals from here.
