Question of the night....Does the MIAC get 3 bids and the IIAC 1 or do they split it and get two bids each?  History tells me it's going to be 3-1, but I sure hope it's 2-2.

Hope Coe can get in but I've a feeling that they'll probably get edged out by GAC and/or CSB.  Guess we'll find out soon enough.  No matter what happens later on today, Coe has had a great year and I think Randi Peterson has laid a great foundation for the program to build on.  With most everybody back next year, you would almost think they'd have to be the odds-on favs to win it.

Minnesota Morris? You have to be kidding me?  I would have been ok with GAC or St. Ben's getting a spot over Coe, but how does a team lose in the Semi's and get in the tournament over any of these 3?

They are a Pool B team, thus are not competing for bids with GAC/St. Bens/Coe, etc

According to a tweet from the IIAC, Margo Muhlbauer was named the Player of the Year.  Thoughts on this one?  While their numbers weren't as high, I would have liked to have seen this go to Kayla Waskow or Stacy Schutjer for leading their team to a League Title, not from a fourth place team.

There were two of us that talked to  Ms. Mulbauer after the last Coe game and congratulated her on four very successful years 2000+ points.   We both then told her we were glad we wouldn't have to play her again.  She deserves it.  For her year and for her body of work over the last six years (oh yea it was only four years but it seems like she was a thorn in our side for six).

There's no question that Muhlbauer was the obvious choice for POY. If you took her away from BV they probably wouldn't have even made the conference tourney. She's been the most consistent player in the league for the past 3 years. I thought she probably should've won the award last year as well.

A recent article in the Cedar Rapids Gazette stated that Coe has its top six players coming back next year.  Coe has 14 of its 15 players coming back.  98.8% of its scoring coming back, and about the same percentage in every other category.

Can we start the new season next week?

Rumor has it that Coe has a very good recruiting class coming in this year. Kohawk, care to shed some light on this...? Haven't heard much about recruits this year for the IIAC schools. Anybody else have the skinny from around the conference?

Won't shed any light ;D , but I would say they are going to be pretty good.  All five starters return, along with arguably the best off the bench player in the league.  With that said, I've also heard that a freshman or two could work their way into that top 6.

Should be another fun year for the Kohawks!

Also heard that one of Wartburg's top returing players, Abby Hempen is out with an ACL tear. That's too bad, she is a very good 3 pt shooter and a huge part of that offense. Not sure if it's more than a rumor at this point but that's what I've heard.

Rumor is that Camille Stenhaug has quit the team at Luther. If so, that is a major loss for the Norse. She has been one of the better guards in the league the last couple years.

I don't repeat gossip so you need to listen closely the first time.  Rumors from the Game Time League bleachers are that:
1. Coe has a bunch of incoming freshman.  So many that they may play a full JV schedule.
2.  Several of these girls are all state.  Mary Halverson (Waukon?) and MacKenzie Reed (I.C.West) are the two that I've read about.
4.  Dirks a good player from Mount Mercy is rumored to be going to Wartburg.
5.  Simpson is rumored to have replaced some players with transfers in addition to incoming freshman
As an after thought there were only four adult women's teams at the Iowa Games.  Two of these teams were from Coe.  Former ISU and U of I players played on other teams. I would like to challenge the other IIAC teams to enter.  Central has gone in the past and some Simpson players have played individually on teams.  I think it would be fun to play each other in the more cordial atmosphere of the Iowa Games.

P.S.  notice three is missing to much of a rumor to repeat even for a rumor monger like myself, erased at the last second.

Good rumors for the off season.  Great to see this.  I agree, it would be nice to see more teams from IIAC schools entering the Iowa Games.

I just wish I knew of any UD rumors.

Also heard that Dirks is at Wartburg. She is a nice player, wonder why she left Mt. Mercy?
