Margo Muhlbauer is making a pretty big impact as only a freshman for BV.

26 points against Luther the other night.

I know it's still pretty early, but she's just shy of averaging 20 points a game.

Storm-what?

Margo should have come to Simpson!  :P

Pretty impressive to make a difference like that as a freshman, not unheard of, especially for women's ball, but still a nice pick up for BV. Simpson's roster has only 1 senior- so the outlook is bright for the future! (Ok wait, lets gets through this year first!).

Is the Reisor girl from Luther hurt or did she quit? From their season preview it sounded like she would be playing a lot, which would make their guard court really good.

Reiser is a sophomore transfer from UNI. I think she was a walk on there. She's a very good ball player............not sure why we haven't heard anything about her yet.......

I was curious if UD was really any better? 5-1 is not a bad start. Of Simpson's 5 wins, 3 were to teams that made the tournament last year.
I don't recall ANY player being that impressionable from Loras. I remember hearing Bennett's (something like that) name a lot. There used to be some incredible Sears boys out of Ankeny that were athletes. Any idea if this Sears is from the same clan?

UD does have some size in the post- with some talent. I don't think they like a physical game -which will hurt in the IIAC. They've got a freshman guard out of Woodstock, IL that- if she plays team ball- will help. Musser is a good pg- we'll just have to see what her supporting cast decides to do this season. If she doesn't get any help- it'll be same ol' UD.

Sears is from a Chicago suburb....not sure if there's any relation to the clan in Ankeny. Healthy- she's a very good ball player. Loras has size in the post- but they don't do a whole lot.

Am curious to see what direction both of these teams head in...................

So what was that deal with UD's win over St. Mary's   100-19

Does it end up not counting since St. Mary's ended the game with only 3 players???

What???   :o  How many girls are on their original roster?  Foul outs or injuries?

BV bounced back after getting knocked off by Luther and pounded on Martin Luther, 78-52.  They travel to Dordt tomorrow night.

From what they said on the internet broadcast, St. Mary's had "personel problems" and only half the team showed up for the game.  Then they ended with just 3 players, so UD only sent out 3 so it ended up as a 3 on 3 game.  That's all they said about the game.

BVHawk

Wow.  Crazy either way.

St. Mary's program is not very old. The first time I saw them (4 yrs. ago) the numbers on their uniforms weren't even centered. This is a horrible game to schedule almost like an Emmaus Bible Institute game. UD needs to play more quality teams to prepare for the IIAC.

COngrats to Simpson on another win, to get to 6-0. Grandview isn't usually too great and the girls played a little rocky, but hopefully they are still learning and working out the kinks.

Wow, what a waste of UD's time!

Beavers win at Dordt last night 75-69.  5 BV players scored double figures.

BVHawk- that sounds like a close game. Is Dordt actually any good? You never hear much about them, but that being said, I have no idea if they are a decent at women's basketball or not?

BVHawk

No. Nothing really spectacular about the Dordt women's program.  They just beat Briar Cliff (for the second time this season) and now their record is 3-8 overall, 3-2 in the conference.

Dubuque lost two games last weekend at the Colorado College Challenge.  Losing to Colorado College 57-73 and to Trinity (Texas) 68-75

They are now off untill they start conference play against Coe on Jan. 3rd.

At least the Spartan women got two games over the holidays.  The Spartan men have been off since they lost at Mt. Mercy Dec. 6th.  They are off till they open conference play against Coe on Jan. 3rd as well.

The Beavers play Dec. 28th, 29th, & 30th at the Clarke Holiday Tournament.
