The Loras women picked up their eighth consecutive win to remain unbeaten so far this year winning 61-55 over Beloit yesterday. Natalie Pucci led the way with 24 points and sits just 72 points away from the all-time scoring record at Loras College.

Any thoughts with the way the Duhawks have started the season under a new coach and a boat load of freshmen and sophomores??

Another good weekend of hoops! Simpson keeps on winning and Cornell got 2 blow out wins.  Congrats to Loras for their start to the season but if you look at their schedule there isnt any reason why they shouldn't be undefeated.  Any thoughts on how the season is shaking out so far?

First of all, you don't see too many lobsided games like Cornell's 116-21 win over Mt. Mary...I couldn't believe it when I saw that.

You're absolutely right about the Duhawks, they are definitely beating the teams they need to. It's good to see they're taking care of business. Last season Simpson and Luther sort of put the IIAC on the D3 map, especially Luther with their elite 8 run, I believe they had. It only seems to be getting better this year with two other teams getting off to great starts in Coe and Loras. Simpson looks very tough, but hopefully this will be a very competitive and entertaining season to follow in IIAC women's hoops.

Kohawk Krazy

Kohawks pick up eighth win of the season today, equally their win total for all of last season!  Nice Job by the Kohawks!

Big game Tuesday night as they travel to sixth-ranked Whitewater!  Hopefully they are all still hungover from the Football National Championship Party! LOL

WLCALUM83

UW-Whitewater women's team wasn't #5 going into the Coe game for nothing.

With apologies to Coe followers, the final was UW-Whitewater 88, Coe 61.

Wartburg followers:

Got some info on Concordia-Chicago's women's team:  The Cougars like to use a press, and if they create turnovers off it, go on the fast break. That squad also has several players who can shoot the 3.

Just my .02

WLCALUM83

Well, well. Wartburg does it again.

Knights 82, Concordia-Chicago 63.

(You Iowa women's squads continue to have NAthCon's number--this poster recalls the shellacking Luther gave Concordia-WI in the NCAA first-round last year).

Congrats to the Knights in giving Loras their first loss of the season. Loras made a run in 2nd 1/2 after being down 13 @ half but WC battled back and controlled in the end.

Aaron Kampman on Coach Ed Thomas
I believe his greatest legacy comes not in how many football games he won or lost but in the fact that he was a committed follower of Jesus Christ.

Any predictions for tonights games?  Any thoughts on the IIAC race so far?  Loras took another loss last night in non-conference action.

Charlie Kohawk

Loved the intensity of the Coe-Dubuque game tonight, with the Kohawks pulling away for the 16-point win.
4 IIAC football championships
8 NCAA football playoff appearances
13 straight wins over Cornell in the oldest football rivalry west of the Mississippi

Storm-what?

Season Predictions: Simpson walks away with it again...  ;) They are very athletic and quick. Still not tall enough but getting there!

birds of prey

Bold prediction Storm considering we're halfway through the season and a quarter into conference play and Simpson is the only unbeaten left....haha.

Hopefully someone will give them a run...Luther has been playing like crap and lost to Central whom Loras beat pretty handily. Then Wartburg, who beat Loras, loses to BV who sits 1-3 in conference play. Lots of parody in the Iowa Conference women's division. We'll see who can step up to the plate and make it a challenge for Simpson, or they're going to struggle come the National Tourney...

Simpson didn't get challenged tonight!!!  Simpson all over Dubuque 101-52  :o

Storm-what?

OK, true my prediction is a little late, but I would have predicted them pre-season, like I always do! :)

Simpson usually plays some pretty good teams in their non-conference games, hopefully that will help. I don't think anyone in the conference can touch them this year- Loras might be the most likely...we'll see on Saturday. Post season is where they hurt for size, although they did make it by UW last year and they were huge!

Huge as in tall???  Or huge as in wide???  Or both ;D
