Looks like the Norse proved me wrong and Simpson's lack of playing in a close game and ft shooting hurt them.  Simpson went the last 8+ minutes without scoring a fg.  Kudos to Luther.

IIAC Standings as of today:

Simpson 11-1
Luther 9-3
Coe 9-4
Dubuque 6-7
BV 6-7
Loras 6-7

Wartburg 4-8
Cornell 3-9
Central 2-10

The top six will play in the conference tourney starting Feb 24 at the highest seed.  Top 2 seeds have 1st round
bye.

Storm-what?

I agree, it's a shocker the Storm lost, but like you said, they needed to be pushed hard and feel that pain before the postseason. And free throws are definitely a sore spot for the Storm and that made all the difference against Luther. No doubt this loss will spur some serious competitive ferocity from SImpson players! Let's hope so at least!

Coe will be attempting to break the school record for wins tomorrow night against Central.

What a great turnaround Randi Peterson has done in just her second year at the helm...

It will be interesting to see Peterson recruits to fill the departing seniors shoes?
Coe is very young after this season, lets see how Peterson does with her own
recruits.

Well, I am not sure what you mean by this.  3 of the 5 starters now are her recruits in Ancieux, Norris, and Jones.  She was the one who convinced Karkosh to stay out for basketball as well (seems like a pretty good decision at this point).  Not to mention, the only impact players receiving regular minutes for the Kohawks that was not her recruit are Karkosh, Shannon Nelson, and Lisa Thornburg.  They are only going to get better.

Well said...Minus a few players, this is already Randi's team with her recruits...The players she has now, along with a few that have already given their word, I would say that Coe will be staying in the top 3 in the IIAC for  years to come...

gottaluvhoops

Does that mean that Randi has some commitments already :) .  Any good players?

Big win for the Kohawks tonight, breaking the 27-year old school record with 17 wins!

Congrats to Coe!

Randi Peterson for Coe should clearly be the IIAC Coach of the year...taking a team that was 8-18 to a 18-6 team with one regular season game to go, with a chance at 2nd in the IIAC...

Just curious as to why you would choose Melanie Duplessis and leave Natalie Pucci off the list?? She's second in the league in scoring, 1st in 3FG made and 7th in 3FG percentage. She's a two-time all-conference selection and has etched her name into the record books at Loras College. I agree with everything else, just question that one thing.

pucci is off the list becuase she plays for loras...she can etch  her name in there but no where else, becuase everywhere else has legit records....bottom line she isn't that good and wouldnt start at simpson....our second team would start anywhere else.... ;D any haters get over it cuz we've at least beat you by ten....MVP Ashley Katch she led the nation in blocks last year ...why shoudn't she be the conference MVP...IIAC made a good choice last year with luthers chick, who remembers her, since she doesn't even play anymore...

Wow, just your second post and you think you're some D3 talent scout expert. If you actually had a chance to see her play more than twice a year then you would know that she'd start for any team in the IIAC. Even Simpson, whether it be in front of Beals or Montague, she'd be in there. I have no doubts about the talent on that Simpson squad, but I know how to measure up Iowa Conference talent when I see it. Obviously, stormfan08, you do not! Oh and don't be surprised when you see her name on the First-Team list  ;D!
