Alfred gets it down to the 1 and runs out the clock.  24-16 final.  Whew.

I might nudge Alfred down a spot or two, depending on the other results today.  It'll be interesting to see where, if at all, Alfred will land in the Top 25 tomorrow night.

To me, a team like Alfred, who doesn't play quality OOC teams, really needs to win impressively against these bad teams

Certainly a win that felt like a loss to a less than stellar team.  Upon further contemplation, it felt almost exactly like the FDU game last year.  Second game of the year, at a lower ranked team, Secky played poorly and Alfred snuck out a win.  Certainly the 2010 Saxons are a work in progress and seem like the 2009 team without Manzer and Hendrix, but they also are 2-0 and played well after a similar struggle last year so they could do the same again this year.

Old IC Voice

Just got back from Norwich. The first half was very fun to watch, despite some undisciplined penalties from the Cadets and Hartwick being unable to finish the job on several great TD opportunities. The second half, though, Norwich's offensive line was able to do whatever it wanted. 352 rushing yards the whole day? Insane.

I was also surprised by the statline for Casimano. He had one big run, but was stifled the rest of the day and never seemed to really get momentum. Hartwick needs to do a better job of controlling the tempo, on both sides of the ball, if they're going to have any chance at playing spoiler in the E8/E6 this season.

Norwich is well known for taking those undisciplined penalties, nothing new there...

Old IC Voice

IC leads 7-6 after Zappia goes over the top to Ruffrage. Lycoming's offense looked good, but the missed XP could come back to haunt them.

Old IC Voice

Chippy game in Williamsport so far littered with bad penalties on both sides.

Ardoin just pounded it in for the score; 14-6 IC in the last minute of the first quarter.

IC should just go Team Boltus and throw it 45-50 times a game...

Old IC Voice

Doesn't count as an E8 score, but Mount Ida up 15-13 on Norwich at the half. Could this be a let-down game from the Cadets after their monkey-stomping of the Hawks?

TD Lycoming on the 1-yard TD run. 14-13 IC, and we could have the makings of a surprise shootout.

Old IC Voice

IC feeling the loss of Dan Higgins, the starting long-snapper. Snap goes over the head of Rogowski on the punt, it's recovered inside Ithaca's 25. Still 14-13 IC, but possibly not for much longer.

Old IC Voice

Clutch pick by Will Carter, and IC dodges a bullet. He's only a sophomore, but it seems like he's ALWAYS around the ball.

Old IC Voice

Lycoming picks off Zappia, and they score with a TD pass with 34 seconds left in the second quarter. XP is good, 20-14 Lycoming.

Old IC Voice

Mount Ida still up 22-21 over Norwich. Maybe I'm overestimating their ability to steal a playoff spot from the E8, but I feel like an MI win would REALLY benefit teams like IC and whoever wins today's Springfield/Alfred tilt.

Bombers798891

Another banner day for the Bomber running game. Nine carries, 31 yards. Keep up the good work boys

Norwich and their conference fall under the Pool B category so they won't be necessarily stealing a playoff spot from a pool C team...

UC dodges a bullet as Wilkes misses a 41-yard FG. Tied at 7 in Utica halfway through the second quarter. 6 minutes left in the half.

I am bummed the live feed went down for that game...
