Hartwick 30, Cortland 14 intermission

Wick qb B. Pine riddling RDragons ........18 of 26 and 2 TDs, 329 yards. Hawks with 431-153 yard bulge and 63 Cortland yards come on D. Walker TD pass play to J. Smith. Cut the lead with 1:16 left to half to 23-14. Hawks drive 69 yards to score at 0:02.

K. Reed 7 catches for 166 yards, 1 TD for Hartwick; B. Garcia 6 for 116, 1 TD

Chris Smith (our d-lineman turned into 3rd string running back) just had a 17 yard scamper for a TD.  He trucked a Fisher offensive lineman over as well as a couple of Buff State defenders in the process.

28-24 Fisher with about 4 minutes left in the game.

Fisher defense again forces a turnover on downs.

Still up 28-24 with about a minute and a half left.

Buff State is going to get the ball back with a little over a minute to go.

boobyhasgameyo

Fisher with the interception to finish it off.

They win 28-24.

Buff State probably left the punter back in Buffalo - no reason to ever punt with this Defense from Fisher.  I've said since the first series of the season - SJF defense worst in over 20 years

And not coincidentally you've sounded like an annoying, broken record since the first series of the season.  The defense is better than last year's unit, you don't have to go back that far.  Look at the statistics.  You know...the actual truth as evidenced by facts and not just what you feel.  You sound like a hyperbolic idiot.

Anyways - 4 sacks, 3 interceptions, 7 second half points given up and 3 huge defensive stops in the second half.  Buffalo State ran 89 plays to Fisher's 52.  A lot of that can be attributed to a couple of dramatically quick possessions by Fisher's offense today.  Like the 1 play 70+ yard touchdown to start the game, the 1 play fumble by Fiutko, etc.  Didn't give the defense a ton of time to rest.

If there is any question of the fisher teams heart it was answered today
D came up so big and I'm so proud of our "future" as our freshman qb steps up without his starting 2 rbs!

And for mid relief

The d played amazing!

What a gutty game!!!!

I couldn't be a prouder Alum on alumni weekend!!!!

Go cardinals!!!

sjfcards

wow, what a great win. Maybe it is the glow of a win, but I feel like other Fisher teams may be 2-3 at this point!

Great fight, and a great win. Chris Smith is a Man Child!
GO FISHER!!!

Cortland 50-47 at Hartwick with seconds left .....S. Cronin FG at 29.5 seconds ......

Bombers798891

How about that Bombers' offense?

What I liked the most was that they responded. After Utica scored to make it 16-14, I thought we were looking at a 17-16 loss. But Ithaca actually made the plays. Faced with a 1st and 20, they pick it up, and get it into the end zone. Then, at 23-14, they get the ball, and pick up a 1st down to run out the clock. Credit where credit is due. I've criticized the offense when it's been bad, but this was a solid effort and a deserved win.

We'll see you on the team of the week, Dan Loizos...20 tackles, 2.5 TFL, 1.5 Sacks, FF

Cortland hangs 50 and nearly 600 yards on Hartwick and wins 50-47. Man, it's unreal that Hartwick can't ever field an even semi-competent defense. They generated nearly 700 yards of offense, and lost at home
