Hobart 10, Cortland 0 with 6:10 left in the first half

Cortland totally offense-less ....... Outgained in first period 131-20 ...

Cortland finally crosses midfield .........first play of the second half ...New qb R. Schneider hooks up with J. Smith for 72 yd. TD ......Alfred 17, Cortland 7

Fisher is laying a real egg out there thus far.

Down 16-0 approaching the midway point in the 3rd.

After I write that they show some signs of life.  Defense forces a fumble, offense quickly scores a touchdown.  Fisher goes for 2 but does not convert.

16-6 Utica with about 4:23 left in the 3rd.

Cortland intercepts at its one -- Alf qb T. Johnson's first of the season, but is unable to move. Alfred takes punt in Cland country and winds up with 42 yd. T. Monk FG for 20-7 lead early in the third period

RDragons go to sr qb T. Schneider ....

Long drive results in A. Wasserman 3 yd. TD run and Corts within 20-14 midway through the third frame

Well, this game is about to get very ugly.

Utica scores to go up 23-6 and then on the ensuing kickoff Fisher fumbles it and Utica recovers deep in Fisher territory.

The good news is that it's only one game.  Fisher still controls their E8 destiny.  But if they continue to play the way they have today then they won't win another game.

Alfred converts 3rd and 22 pass to inside the Cortland one. T. Johnson then scores to push Saxons to 27-14 lead over Cortland entering the fourth quarter

IThaca down 35-28, Brockport driving. Ithaca's defense just can't get off the field.

Alfred converts again!!!  On 4th and 9 from its 30 T. Johnson hits 28 yarder to R. Etienne to Cortland one ......Johnson the scores for 34-14 Saxon advantage with nine minutes left ....... RDragons' secondary once again quite sieve-like .......

Brockport wins 42-28. Good win. 2 years in a row against Ithaca.

Final: Alfred 41, Cortland 28

T. Johnson-led victory for 6-0 Saxons. Tosses 17 yd. TD pass to E. Frigon with 2:50 left for 20 point lead

RDragon followers left wondering .....K. Schneider enters in second half and completes 19x22 passes for 340 yards, 2 TDs

Cortland was a completely different team with Schneider at the helm. Felt like the Red Dragons could score at will in the second half and the result felt very much in doubt until those two long 3rd/4th down conversions with a Cortland fumble in between. If Cortland could have recovered one or two of their 4 onside kick attempts today, the final may have been reversed. I think Cortland has found its signal caller for the remainder of the season.
