GO FISHER!!!

congrats go Fisher
way to make a statement!

this is going to sound very conceded and high brow but the Fisher game tonight looked like a varsity team playing a JV team. I know Hobart is good and I think they will win ent of games this year, but fsher was just that much more physical, faster, and organized than the Statesmen. A very good showing for the cards.
GO FISHER!!!

Where's Pep when you need him?

The Utica/Wilkes feed is back up though!!

Wilkes is a big strong team and it's interesting to see the Utica team struggle with the Wilkes size and strength so far!

Pep has just returned to Mayberry after an 18-hour excursion extraordinaire with a trumpet, a trombone, a flute, a clarinet and a snare drum. Kudos to the band for putting in a hard day's work. Kudos to Springfield on a well played game. Kudos to the Saxons for a nicely balanced offensive attack and a solid defensive effort. Great game!

AU was near the red zone late in the first half, ready to extend its 14-7 lead but a Secky pass was picked off and returned to the AU 22 and SC tied it up just before the half, 14-14. Pep was pleased that the Saxons overcame their adversities and made some clutch plays during "Crunch Time" to come homewith a W. As always, a nice crowd of mostly parents at the game supporting the Saxons.

Pep was impressed with the outstanding play of Hornell's Austin Dwyer (168 yards rushing, 3 catches, 32 yards, with 2 rushing TDs and 1 TD catch.)

On Saxon Warriors!
On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!
...Fight, fight for Alfred, A-L-F, R-E-D!

Fisher played much better, but Hobart dug themselves a big hole early with the missed FG, fumble at their own 40, then failing on 4th down at the SJF 25 yrd line, giving up the punt block (also on Hobart's side of the field)...

I was on the Statesmen sideline for the first half and they were visibility frustrated with how poorly they were playing.

To Fisher's credit they took advantage of all of Hobart's miscues and ran the ball very well against the Statesmen.  Seemed like Hobart was dropping a lot of guys into coverage so you typically had 6 Fisher blockers on Hobart's 4 (relatively inexperienced) DL.

That said, a definite statement win for SJFC who rightfully is in the Top 25.

Ithaca is sliced and diced it's way inside Hartwicks 10 on their first drive with ease...

With first and goal inside the 5 they fizzled out and turned it over on a pick in the endzone on 3rd down...

maxpower

Ithaca is without OG Gregory Peck and LB Gilfed..... wait a second, Gregory Peck?!?!

Horrible punt by Wick out of it's own endzone get's caught at the 35 and returned inside the 10, IC scores on a pass over the middle!

EP no good, 6-0 IC

This might be my main complaint about DIII football; it is so frustrating to see so many XPs go unconverted. I know, I know how hard it is to find a kicker at this level, but still. Hell when I was at IC our starting first basemen was the PK. (Ok, he was on the soccer team too...)

The last time I complained about that (Bad kicking) Brockport's Special Teams Coach came on here and berated me for never playing.  LOL

The stats would say otherwise.  Ferguson is on the record as having one PAT.  I believe he just kicked off.  But, ICs kicking game is confusing this year.  Rogowski is a kid that is up for the Mitchell award and has just killed it the last two years.  This year he has just been terribly inconsistent.
Winning is not a sometime thing; it's an all time thing. You don't win once in a while, you don't do things right once in a while, you do them right all the time. Winning is habit.

Yeah, I should have said that Rogowski has been awesome in the past, this was not an IC-specific complaint... and thanks for setting me straight on Ferguson, I do now remember that he just kicked off...

Ha! man, I'm sorry I missed that. No, I never played either, but I think fans are allowed to express their opinion once in awhile? Hell, I'm CERTAINLY not saying I could do it...
