TOUCHDOWN IC!!!!!

Big pass play for a long TD with 31 seconds left.
GO FISHER!!!

Definitely not getting 2 bids from the E8 now, probably. The loss from SU reduces the criteria of both SJF and AU.

I'm running board for our game and i'm like, freaking out.

Btw,

36 yard TD Strike from Benkwitt to Meier has UC up on Alfred, 7-0.

Dwyer, Beckwith, and Sopak all still out for Alfred.

I think the 2 losses dooms them both anyway.  If either of them were a one loss team the fact that Salisbury lost today (or is in all likelihood going to lose) wouldn't have any effect on Alfred or Fisher.

A Salisbury loss (and a Utica win today) does put UC in the driver's seat, as funny as that sounds.

D O.C.

Look at Ithaca!
Big play! No flags!
Laid a bomb on 'em!

Interception from Alfred's backup QB. Shawn Mitchell picked it off. UC in business, 7-0 and looking like they could come up with more.

First loss in the E8 for Salisbury.  That took a while.

Agreed. Both teams lost both games to good teams, but two losses just isn't good enough this year. Everyone in conference has at least two losses. Fisher is at best, IMHO, going to finish third in line for the bid behind AU and SU. AU only has two losses, but if they win out they will finish second for the AQ behind a team that has two losses as well. I thought it was a fluke last year that 1 team from the East got in with 2 losses, I can't see two teams with 2 losses from the same conference getting in...

AU does control their own destiny, but all of their work is still in front of them. I wouldn't read too much into any resume that does not have the 3 toughest games they will play all year included.
GO FISHER!!!

And chaos once again ensues in the Empire 8....

Triple option teams do not win at Ithaca. Period. That's six straight heading back to 2002. Combined record of those teams (outside of their loss to Ithaca):

45-10

The weather cooperated today, as the field was muddy--the worst kind of conditions to run the triple option in. But the Bombers did a great job. Just a fantastic win.

I will say this: I know Salisbury's got a great corner. But with 42 seconds left, you HAVE to know Joe Ingaro is going to be targeted. Leaving him one on one with no safety help over the top is a terrible defensive play call. Ingrao is the Bombers' one play-maker. You have to double him in that situation.

Utica with their most impressive performance by far. Suddenly, the Pioneers look like they could shock the conference. I mean, why couldn't they win some 35-34 kind of game over the Gulls? This isn't 2011. Salisbury's not winning every conference game by three or four touchdowns. Aside from Ithaca, Alfred and Fisher both had good chances to beat them. The conference is there for the taking if the Pioneers come to play
