Fisher having a ton of trouble with Frostburgh. Just can't put them away...

31-28 Fisher in the 4th quarter...

The Fisher D just can't consistently get off the field, they get them in 3rd and longs but just can't get the stop...

This may be one of those WTF conference losses that Fisher has every year...

lulz...

Fisher fumbles on their first play of offense after 'Burgh makes it 31-28...

5 plays later 'Burgh punches it in on a 6 yard run to make it 35-31...

Absolutely hilarious...

Huge KR by Kramer to the 'Burgh 40yd line...

Fisher runs the ball the remaining distance over a few plays and Miller punches it in from 9 yards out to retake the lead...

38-35...

Kramer has gotten them 3 huge returns to at least the 'Burgh's 40 yard line, Fisher has scored on each of those opportunities...

Another crazy one for Alfred.  After everything breaking their way in the first quarter, less a missed XP, the Saxons held a 20-0 lead.  Buff State then had the run of play the rest of the way, scoring at the end of the half and on the first possession of the second, to make it 20-14.  Near the end of the third, Alfred scored again to stretch the lead back to 13, but the Bengals answered immediately.  After holding the Saxons, Buff State then marched down the field and punched it in only to miss the XP.  Neither team could take advantage in the waning moments so OT for Mayberry again.  Alfred scored a touchdown on their possession, but missed another XP.  Buff State then shot inside the 10 before getting stopped by at the 20 setting up 3rd and goal from the 20 that was picked off.  Only, the Saxon defender decided to run it out, got stripped at the 1 and have it recovered as a TD for the Bengals!  Buff State lined up for the winning XP, again, and had it blocked!  In double OT, Buff State could not convert and Alfred moved the ball down to the 2 where they punched it in for the win.  Looking forward to triple OT up on South Hill next week!

really shaky effort by the Cardinals...

38-35 is the final, not really impressive at all today...

A lot of east west running by the Cardinals again, Fenti was up and down but made a nice throw on the TD to Nigolian...

Defensively they were lucky the 'Burgh RB couldn't catch. The screen game was wide open all day and the RB had the ball bounce of his chest on 4 of the 6 screen passes. Saw a ton of zone today again and the 'Burgh QB made them pay...

If they drop, they deserved it because today was not impressive at all...

I agree Upstate.  Although it looks like the #21 and #22 teams lost and #20 didn't win in a huge blowout against a team that isn't very great.

Upstate

The DB picking off a pass then running 80 yards only to get stripped by the QB and have the ball roll out the end zone was the play of the game for both teams. Could have had another 7 on the board going into the 3rd and Fisher was getting the ball back to start the 3rd. Missed a chance to end the game there but let them stay around after a huge hustle play by their QB...

Back from the UC - SU game.
There are no words to describe this disaster.
Is UC that bad?  I don't think so- but they were pitiful today.
Is SU that good? No..Any quality E8 team that stacks the box and plays the option well wins out.
There was absolutely no downfield threat and yet they were successful.
This may be the year that Fisher beats SU...but after that Frostb performance--who the hell knows!

Upstate

Fisher's D is really getting after Hartwick's QB...4 sacks and it's only the start of the 2nd quarter...

7-0 Fisher though, need to see a bit more from the offense...

Hartwick pins Fisher deep in own end, forces a punt and gets a great return inside Fisher's 20...

They punch it in on a 1 yard TD run a few plays later to tie it at 7...

Fisher then takes the ball and marches 65 yards and scores on a Miller 5 yard run to go up 14-7...

Upstate

Teams exchanged punts then Hartwick gets a drive going to end the half but ultimately gets sacked on a hail mary attempt at midfield...

Still 14-7...

Fisher is really hit or miss on offense. Fenti is inaccurate today, he isn't making mistakes with the ball but he's missing on his ball placement with open WRs...

Fisher D is swarming and is giving Hartwick's line a lot of problems...

Upstate

Fisher takes the ball in the 2nd and marches down to the Wick 2 but ends up kicking a FG on 4th down to go up 17-7...

Wick's next offensive play is a pick 6 by LB Preish and it's 24-7...

Fisher's D is just pummeling the Wick QB...

7 sacks so far and multiple big hits after he got rid of the ball...

Fisher D with 11 sacks for the day...

Held Wick's offense to 98 total yards before they pulled the starting defense out...

Ithaca physically dominates Alfred 17-6.

I know that sounds strange, but you had to be there. Ithaca, missing quarterback Phil Neumann, who was out with an injury, flat out punishes Alfred's defensive line. Rakim Jones runs 31 times for 170 yards, and Samuto adds 11 carries for 50 yards. Tom Dempsy goes an efficient 14-for-20 for 166 yards. Ithaca has the ball for over 38 minutes.

I was umimpressed with Alfred's offense. Johnson didn't do much of anything downfield, and Alfred's running backs had 20 yards on three carries. Johnson threw for 292 yards, but the biggest plays were runs after the catch. He completed less than 50 percent of his passes, and turned it over three times. Yes, both picks were the kinds of throws you have to make when you're down 11 points with less than five minutes to go, and your kickers are a non-entity. He had a pick 6 that was dropped and his fumble was a killer.

Ithaca's coaching staff, deserves an A+. Great game plan
