Was it so offensive to the sensibilities to call for a potential IC win now?  Like I said, I expected Fisher to win, but having been on these boards (on and off anyway) for a decade now I sometimes think any prediction of a Fisher loss in conference is going to cause an uproar even if it's a perfectly reasonable thing to say.  Now the question is can the East region get any pool C now?

Honestly, no.  Looking over the east, the ONLY possibility I could see is if St. Lawrence beat Hobart for the Liberty League title, leaving Hobart at 9-1, but I don't know if the schedule would be enough to get them there.  There's no way 2 losses is getting Pool C consideration at this point, maybe look at that again in 2 weeks time. EDIT: And with SLU losing to Springfield, that is gone.

EDIT to add: And this day in the Empire 8 is complete.  FINAL- Buffalo State 34 Utica 19.

Don't be ridiculous.  There is FA91 who seems to take offense but if you read his posts that is his general nature - to be a little more on the passionate side.  Where is the uproar from the rest of us?  Cards, Upstate, me?  If you think any of us were acting upset then I'd hate to see what you think when it actually does happen.

Initial SU drive stalls after a few first downs at the Alfred 35.  Punt down to the Alfred 1.

Alfred drives 99 yards to take the lead - big play on an out and up route where WR got way behind the SU DB for about 35-40 yards.

7-0 Saxons - very impressive initial drive

gterror

Very good game to this point.

Alfred has a solid drive following an SU fumble with some nice 3rd down conversions.

Salisbury responds with a 40 yd TD on a play-action pass.

14 all like 3 or 4 min til half.

gterror

Alfred up 21-14 at half

Double pass (swing to WR and then deep ball) with about 2 min left to take the lead.  2nd TD earlier was on a fake reverse pass.  Well executed surprise plays.

Salisbury ties it back up at 21 with 6:36 to go in the 3rd.  SU forces Alfred into having to punt deep in their end zone, and they make the good field possession count to bring us back level.

EDIT: And just before halftime, Ithaca picks up a touchdown on a 67 yard punt return.  Miss the extra point- Ithaca 13 Frostburg 0.

gterror

Alfred takes the lead after a turnover.  1st play 25 yd TD.

28-21 Alfred about 13 min left

gterror

31-21 Alfred - not much time left.  About 1:45 left and SU only has 1 timeout.  Looking like Alfred is going to get the W

Fisher is dominating Utica early in losing technique - down 13-0 after one quarter.  Terrible weather conditions today.  Also, not to make excuses or anything but both of Utica's touchdowns were blatant misses by the refs.  The first touchdown occurred after the wide receiver literally pushed the DB to the ground in the end zone.  The second TD was a nice play but the WR trapped the ball off the ground.  He didn't catch it first.  Stepnick style.

Ithaca up 13-0 on Frostburg. Sam Carney with a punt return for touchdown. So, in other words, Ithaca's special teams is operating the same as always
