Alfred responds with their first sustained drive of the game, going 80 yards in 11 plays and ending with quarterback Tyler Johnson running out wide and finding no defense to stop him for going to the end zone from 13 yards out.

Is it me, or does Ithaca do much better running the ball out of one back inside zone sets than when they have a fullback in there?

That certainly seemed to be the case in this game at any rate.  I wish I could put my finger on why though, maybe just better line play on the part of Ithaca with that formation?

24-21 Cortland at the half. The Red Dragon secondary has been the Achilles heel. The offensive unit is pretty dynamic in both the run and pass game. The run defense has played well, but in any passing situation Utica capitalized. Not to take anything away from Utica, their offense has been  fun to watch from a Pioneers' fan p.o.v.  From a Red Dragon's view....not so much

Bengals down 6-17. Second half begins with the worse video feed this side of the Pecos!  Cameraman is always focused on the where the last play began plus you can make out a single number of either player on the field. Bengals really miss Hoppy!

A bit of back and forth to start the 2nd half, but Ithaca gets first score after converting a 3rd and goal on the 8 with a pass to an open Josh Oliver in the back of the end zone.

3:16 left in the 3rd- Ithaca 21 Alfred 10

Big letoff there by Ithaca.  The Bombers shank a punt badly, giving Alfred field position in the Ithaca half.  Then, they force a sack that would have given them a 3rd and long goal situation, but the sacker then gets called for taunting, giving Alfred a new wave of downs.  First play after, they get an 8 yard pass for the touchdown on the left.

Alfred then goes for 2 and gets it in the other end of the end zone.

10:03 left in the game- Ithaca 21 Alfred 18.

Tristan Brown coming up with the big play for Ithaca here.  It looked like a pretty short run on the draw, but Brown gets the turnaround off a defender and then a perfect cut going from the right sideline to the left and he extends the arm over the goal line for the touchdown before the final defender can cut him off.

8:24 left- Ithaca 28 Alfred 18

EDIT UPDATE- PICK AND SIX!  Kenny Bradley gets the read on the pass from Tyler Johnson, has it covered the entire time, and returns it back 45 yards for the touchdown that looks likely to put this one away for the Bombers.

7:04 left- Ithaca 35 Alfred 18
