The Fisher/Ithaca game certainly turned exciting in the 2nd half.  My goodness.

I have nothing but respect for the job Mike Welch has done during his career, but the fact that, with two and a half games left in his career, he punted on 4th-and-4 at his opponents' 40 in a 13-10 game...come on. If there was ever a time to just say "**** it" and be aggressive, that was it.

Fisher was clearly the better team, and it was only a matter of time before it turned bad, but Ithaca could have made them work for it.

Cortland ends its losing ways with 45-20 spanking of visitor Morrisville. RDragon soph qb B. Segala completes 28 of 39 passes for 322 yards and four TDs in first start. J. Mannix snags 10 throws for 100 yds and two TDs and sets career reception mark with 171. Cortland with 441 yards, Mustangs 407. J. Smith, J. Akins also catch TD tosses. D. Walker back from concussion and sees limited qb duty for CSt.

Cortland 4-5, idle next week and hosts Ithaca in finale

Glad Brockport gained a whopping 12 net yards on their punt...

Coaching scared in a one score game boggles my mind...

Brockport's QB has no awareness at all. He has talent but just the QB brain doesn't seem to be there quite yet.

Alfred wins 30-28. Mostly because Brockport imploded. At least 10 penalties in the 2nd half. Sack after sack, not getting rid of the ball, and so on.

That was just a bad display of coaching in a close game...

Brockport should have went for it or at least do that pooch punt they do...

I see your point. But it was 4th and forever. I don't mind them punting, as they had put them inside the 3 at least twice. That time it didn't work.

Ugly at times but another win for Fisher. Any win is a good win in the E8!

Congratulations to Alfred on getting to 8-0 with a great last drive. I thought Brockport had the talent to upset, and they did....they just could not finish the Saxons off when it counted...great E8 game

Really thought Ithaca played with heart but Fisher looked strong in the second half....the big end of year Saxons vs. Cardinals is looking probable.

This is the pivotal difference between 8-0 or 7-1 and 5-3 for Brockport. It irks me! Oh well  :P
