If we (the South) are to get 2 Pool C bids, it looks like that CTX must win the tourney to get in.

Emory is looking strong for a Pool C.  They have 4 games remaining, including one with Rochester.

Seems like there would likely be 3 Pool C bids from the South, if CTX wins their tourney .... VWC/HSC, Emory, and MH-B.  ??

In the ASC, East #1 UT-Dallas hosts the tourney.

Also CTX is the travel partner for UMHB and a strong division rival.

I always greatly honor and respect any team that can beats its rival (like ASC West #1 UMHB beating ASC-West #2 CTX) all three times, or rarely all four times, in a season!

I think that Emory can "lock" its Pool C bid by beating Rochester.  They will not get another loss after the regular season, and they have plenty of results versus in-region foes, and other South Region teams in the Regional Rankings are likely to take a minor hit with a conference tourney loss.

VWC is a lock and can get the #1 seed in the region.

UMHB can move to the #2 seed with a win over RR CTX in the ASC Final.  I think that they are vulnerable for Pool
C if they lose.

CNU is a lock.

HSC moves to Pool C.
Emory is probably next on the table..
CTX probably has to win the ASC tourney to get into the tourney.
Coloardo College plays Trinity TX for the SCAC bid.  The bean counters are hoping for a UMHB-TrinityTX first round game.

What about Spalding College? SLIAC Champ AQ. I believe they are like 20-3 In - Region. That may need fact check on my Part. Just wondering since they are in the South Region.

Yes, they are South Region.  I usually "lump" them into the Midwest with the rest of the SLIAC.
Denny, they might play Centre, if the Colonels get the Pool B bid.

That would be a good match-up for D3 fans in Kentucky!

I see Pat has projected UMHB to host the first weekend pod again ... why not CTX, with a similar record and the H2H in the conference championship?  The SOS difference isn't THAT great, and besides, CTX is much closer to my house  ;)

I think that UMHB gets the bye in the first week, and TU goes to CTX.  UMHB hosts in the second week.

UMHB beat CTX 2-1 in the season and has had a higher Regional Ranking all season.

13 days off!  Wow!  That might be tough.  I think that I would rather be CTX!

Is UMHB on Spring Break that weekend?

When did we change to not having first and second round games in the initial weekend?  That was certainly the case last year.

CTX goes to Trinity, winner goes to MHB the next week.  All I can think is that CTX didn't file paperwork to host.

This year alone for the men. The D2 and D3 finals will be played in Atlanta during the Final Four.

Is UMHB on Spring Break that weekend?

No.  Spring break starts the following weekend.

FYI in case you missed it... Concordia did NOT put in to host... thus why they are traveling to Trinity and on to UMHB if they win. Only 37 schools put in to host potentially 30 games.

That is interesting, would that be an oversight on their part or a choice?

Dave 'd-mac' McHugh

I am not sure... their coach said on Hoopsville yesterday they chose not to do it because it could be a distraction on getting the job of winning games done... not sure that is a real answer or just what they are saying... they could have missed the deadline since they didn't think they would be in this boat to begin with... which has happened before.

The curious thing is that only 37 schools put in to host when so many schools could host this time around.
