I was at the Brockport V. Fisher game last year in the sweet sixteen and returned to the chase tonight to see the rematch. Fisher  Brockport played very poorly most of the first half, lacked discipline as a team and couldn't stop Fisher on D. Played a lot of Zone too which surprised me. Turning point was about the 15 minute mark. Brockport pressed in the second half a lot more and at the 15 minute mark scored 7 points in about 30 seconds with Fisher's PG Newman on the bench and the press on. That closed the lead down from 10 to 3 with an AND1 basket by Johnson. Fast forward to the end of the game. Fisher has the ball with 18 seconds no timeouts and has to inbounds from the corner. Newman running out of time throws the ball of the back of PArrish and out of bounds. Attempts to do it again but turns it over Sherrod Harris goes to the line and makes it 86-81. Fisher hits a 3 then fouls Sherrod Harris. He sank both from the FT line making it 88-84. Newman comes down and hits the three, uncontested as Harris just lets him fire away from the top of the key. Fisher is down one two seconds left, the pressure is on and Brandon Williams just throws the ball in its tipped up ends up in the hands of McKeever who pump fakes and shoots a three which almost banks in but was a little long.  Kornaker chased the refs off the court looking for the foul. Controversial play and a tough situation to call a foul in that spot in my opinion. I see the coaching staff's arguement though. Good comeback by Brockport, i knew at halftime the game wasn't over and Fisher was going to have to battle to win.

Big night in the SUNYAC this evening as conference play resumes.  Potsdam needs to win at Buff St. but I think they're going to lose in a close game. Plattsburgh should handle Fredonia by about 15. Likewise Oneonta and Oswego should both be double digit winners over Morrisville and New Paltz respectively.
Wouldn't be surprised to see Brockport upset No. 1 ranked Rochester tonight in the Chase tournament . UR has already beat up 3 SUNYAC teams. It'll be interesting to see how they fare against one of the better teams in the Conference. Geneseo will have  their hands full with Nazareth tonight and I think their unbeaten streak will come to an end. (I hope I'm wrong, on this one but Naz handled a pretty good Oswego team early in the season)
As always I will await the j-dex wrap ups between 10 and 11 tonight.

Brockport loses a tough one to No.1 Rochester 75-70. Down 1 with a minute to go  they couldn't quite pull off the upset. Good showing for the Port though.
