ILOVEBALL - amazing: scratching your head in disbelief at what you saw. That, in a word, describes my experience watching Edane Barton play basketball. Over the past 2 years I have seen him consistently outrebound people 5" taller and 50 lbs heavier; strip the best point guards in the league and convert huge dunks at the other end; hit NBA range 3's while getting dumped on his backside and then convert the and 1. I've also seen him commit dozens of unforced turnovers in every imaginable situation, launch passes to what appear to be imaginary team mates, or totally disappear for long stretches of minutes. The one constant has been never knowing what to expect.  His play can not reasonably be described without using superlatives. I'm not sure that his play can be reasonably described at all; no one else in the league can match either his "Oh, Wow" or "Doh!" factors - and in all respects, he meets my definition of head scratching amazing.

Unbearable,
Appreciate it ...................rarely get near a computer in FLA., but do keep close tabs on SUNYACs. Looks like top notch horse race in Jan/Feb. Cortland all we thought they'd be -- tough. Very deep. It'll be interesting to see how TSpan handles the point. Elbert Nalls draws starting assignment and does well in all facets. Gets pulled early and rarely sees duty thereafter. Generally his successors even better -- Maggiacomo and Skrelja in particular.

Plattsburgh in quite the game this evening and faces host Montclair (68-67 loss to Bridgewater MA) on Friday afternoon.
Keene NH escaped Cardinals' charge from 68-42 deficit at 11:35 to 86-86 tie on A. Williams' '3' at 0:17. After Keene hoop, A. Miller layup at 0:01 created reg. knot at 88.
Keene hit FTs six-seconds into ot and led by eight at 3:08. Back came Platts within 99-97 on A. Williams' trey at 0:55. Miller layup at 0:32 made it 101-99 and his ft moments later posted final score. Miller missed jumper at 0:02
Pburgh 34x68fg (9x27 3s), 23x30ft. Had 47-36 board edge. Lost Williams, T. Gorham, K. Gibbs-Smith on fouls (Keene 25x36ft and 32x70fg). Miller 21 pts (6x9fg, 8x9ft), 5 assts, 5 stls in 24'; Williams 20 pts (6x13fg); Gibbs-Smith 15 pts (6x8fg) and 6 TVers in 24'; R. Rider 13 pts (4x7fg, 2x3 3s) in 19'; T. Gorham 11 pts (4x4fg), 10 rebs; B. Hatch 10 rebs

Florida? Where in Florida?  I live down here in West Palm Beach.

Haven't been on these boards in a while.  Wishing good Luck to the Golden Eagles in D.C.  as they head for the Catholic tournament!

I'd love to see my Alma Mater Play the beloved administrator of this site's Alma Mater!

First, there is Eastern who I know nothing about.  Anyone have any info on the Eastern Eagles?

bports

Bport on the road tonight  at #10 york pa after having almost a month off. Bport then travels to catolic(receiving votes top 25) for a weekend tourney . GOOD LUCK BPORT

bports

Bport puts up a good fight on the road at #10 york pa. Bport down 10 at the half opens 2nd half on a 17-9 run to get within 2 pts halfway throughh 2nd half. York opens the lead back to 7pts and pulls away late for a 91-77 win. York has won 22 straight on there home court. Belluci goes for 24 and rother nets 19 in his first game for the port. cheeves and amparo also hit for double figures. The question still remains when are williams and harris going to be allowed back on the team? With rother back this is a good team, if williams and harris come back this team will be VERY GOOD.

John McGraw

If Williams and Harris still aren't with the team now that we've moved into 2006, I'd seriously doubt they'll be coming back at all. The second semester (in terms of actual classes) starts for most schools over the next few weeks. Anyone who sat out in the first semester....i.e. John Rother and Mychal Wilkes, is now eligible because that semester is over. Right around the time of the Hamilton game is when the Brockport roster changed and Williams and Harris were taken off, and maybe some others, I can't remember. Seems to me, the Port's roster is always very large.

I think Brockport can contend for the league title with the nucleus of Rother, Cheeves and Belluci. But, their style of play and lack of players to choose from could hurt them down the stretch. After the Catholic tournament, there's the resumption of conference play, plus the Chase Tournament. If anything, Brockport will be battle tested and these games against tough competition will ready them for conference play.
