Oswego takes hops away from Canton Kangaroos in big way -- 116-68. Lakers out front 59-31 at break as fr C. Burridge nets 18 of his final 24 pts. S. Francois finishes with 19, K. Reuter 14, fr C. Monaghan 14

To clarify: Ithaca's Bostic and Leahy did play at Cortland, just weren't much statistical factors. Burton a bit more visible but numbers no big deal. Considering IC romped ..... scary!

Plattsburgh State loses to Westfield State 64-60 in Cardinal Classic final. Westfield grabs lead at 60-58 with 34 secs. left. Cardinals come down and miss attempt to tie. Westfield fouled and player makes 1 of 2 to go up by 3 with 22 secs left. Plattsburgh turns the ball over, fouls and The Owls go up by 5 with 10 secs left. The Cardinals were led by Brad Mader who came off the bench to score 16 pts, along with 7 rebounds and 2 blocks. Errol Daniyan and RJ Ponesse both chipped in with 8 points. Westfield St. was paced by Tournament MVP Asa Abbott with 15 pts.  Johnny Dunbar added 13 and Dave Jaehnig also hit double figures with 12. Wouldn't surprise me to see Westfield State win the Mass. State College Athletic Conference this year with 13 returning players from last year's 19-9 team. They just missed the NCAA's last year when they lost to Salem State in the MASCAC championship game, after beating them twice during the regular season.
The loss ended the Cardinals regular season home winning streak that streched back nearly 2 years. They had won their last 16 regular season home games.

The Bport Eagles open up this weekend at the John Hopkins Tourney with the Whitworth Pirates. They look to be a very formidable opponent with 3 starters returning from a stellar season and a great recruiting class. They are a preseason "top 2" pick in their league. I certainly hope the remaining Harris will be the leader he is capable of being--Its his turn to make the Eagles Go--Good luck!!!

Having watched the Brockport/UR scrimmage Friday night, I can tell you that if Bport brings the same kind f defensive intensity from their guards, they'll be fine.
