Potsdam-Morrisville game had an interesting statistic. Only 1 player from each team went to the free throw line in the entire game. Morrisville's J. McCants was 1 of 2 and Potsdam's A. Dike was 4 of 8. Total fouls called in the game were 7 against the Mustangs and 6 against the Bears. I guess the refs let em play. Don't think I've ever seen a game where only 2 players out of 20 had a ft attempt.

Refs did let them play, only called obvious stuff.  Game was over by 9:20. refreshing.   One of crew from magicman's home turf.

Siskavich & Lothridge both mobile, but on the bench in sweats.  Dobbs inserted Schwartz to replace Siskavich outisde threat & he responded with 4 1st half treys before cooling down.  Clement picked up the second half load from outside.

D. Brown obviously ailing, spent much time on the bench in heavy sweats with a towel on his head.  His one basket was a breakway steal and thunderous dunk in transition.

Potsdam up by 12 in the first half before M'ville run cut to 4.  Bears extended to +20 in the second half before Dobbs emptied what passed for the bench with 7' left.

Bears have won three straight heading into Rochester trip this weekend.

Geneseo pounding of Oswego a wakeup call, particularly coming at Laker Hall.  Knights may be peaking at just the right time.

That would explain the speed of the game and let em play theme. T. L.(I'm guessing) had to drive back to the Burgh ;D

Scooter,

Plattsburgh has 10 losses with 2 games to play. I believe they will win both of those games, on the road against Morrisville and New Paltz to end up at 6-10 in the YAC. New Paltz and Brockport both have 9 losses with 3 games to play. New Paltz travels to Oneonta on Tuesday and finishes at home against Potsdam, then Plattsburgh. I think they lose all 3 games and wind up 4-12. Your Eagles travel to Morrisville on Tuesday a game they will surely win, and finish by hosting Cortland, then Geneseo. Tough 2 game finale. If the Cards win their final 2 games, your Eagles will have to win all 3 of their games to finish 7-9. If they win 2 of 3 they end up tied with Plattsburgh at 6-10 and lose the tiebreaker to the Cards by virtue of that 99-92 OT loss to the Cards back on December 5th.

The other scenario is New Paltz beats Plattsburgh.  They would both end up 5-11 and then Brockport would only have to win 2 of their final 3 games to end up 6-10 and claim the final playoff spot. If Brockport only wins 1 of their final 3 they also end up at 5-11. With a 3 way tie and teams beating each other(New Paltz and Plattsburgh will have split , Brockport beat New Paltz, and Plattsburgh beat Brockport), I think they go to how the 3 tied teams did against the top teams in the conference. Not sure of that however. Bear or jdex will probably have to help me out if that happens. I, of course am hoping for my initial scenario to play out. ;D

10 Plattsburgh 4-10     2-20 at Morrisville  2-21 at New Paltz
11 Morrisville    0-14     2-17 vs Brockport  2-20 Vs Plattsburgh

Interesting observation. Probably won't happen, but because of who plays who,  current top 5 teams could all end up with 11-5 records.

Geneseo obviously in driver's seat, but if they go 1-1 and Buff St wins last 2 the Bengals would claim top spot by virtue of win against Geneseo earlier.  Oswego's only chance is to beat Buff St. and hope Geneseo loses both remainig games, then Lakers claim with only 4 losses. Geneseo's 2 wins over Oswego gives them the advantage if they both end up 12-4 .  No other team can come in 1st place.

#2098
Cortland travels north to Potsdam and falls to the Bears 68-61. Brandon Siskavich hits 2 free throws with 37 seconds left to put the bears up 64-61. Cortland misses a 3 with 12 secs left, grabs the rebound and takes a time out. Red Dragons called for a 5 second violation on the in bounds pass after the time out and Potsdam's Damon Brown fouled and hits 2 more ft's to extend lead to 66-61. Cortland turns it over again and intentionally fouls Siskavich with 2 secs left. He hits both to make the final score 68-61.

Bears were led by Damon Brown with 16 pts, Siskavich with 10 and Tom Kelso with 10. Red Dragons paced by Juan Miolan with 16 and Dan Evans with 15. Bears were 17-19 from the line which proved to be the deciding factor. Game was close throughout with Cortland opening up a 19-10 early lead and Bears coming back to be down 4 at the break. Never more than a 5 pt lead from then on until the final score. Bears improve to 8-7 with game at New Paltz Friday. Cortland falls to 8-6 and probably loses any chance of a home playoff game. Red Dragons travel to Brockport then New Paltz this weekend.
