I don,t know I might have a different link for live stats. Anyway they are tied at 63 and going to double OT

Brockport 's valiant effort coming up a little short as they are now down 73-70 with 8 secs left and CMU is going to the line need 2 misses here now Ow he hit them both and Port loses 75-70 Too bad for the Eagles but they did the SUNYAC proud.

Four overtime games and Port's double OT game tonight in the !st round of play. What a night for D3 Hoops. I'm exhausted just listening to them.

Brockport's magical run comes to an end but they didn't go down without a fight.
Eamon Kays led the Eagles with 15 pts and 8 rebounds. He was 6x11 from the field and 3 for 3 from the line. Ian Mack had 14 pts on 6x9 fgs and 2x2 fts. Mychal Wilkes added 12 points and Joe Clarke chipped in with 10. Eagles didn't have the best of nights shooting from the field going 23 x 69 for an even 33%. They were much better from the line hitting 21 of 26 for an 80% clip. Ultimately going 3 x 20 from long range had to hurt. Another telling stat was only 6 assists recorded by the entire team. Couldn't listen to the game, but followed it on live stats, so I don't know if it was a case of great defense by CMU for the low shooting % or just a lack of getting the ball to the open guy but only 6 assists in a double OT game is not good. Kays and Mack were the only players with decent fg%. CMU placed 5 guys in double figures led by Jack Anderson with 15.

Hey Magic - notice Ruiz made first team but no one else from Platt mentionned.  Was that a little disappointing or expected because of not getting to playoffs?   Congrats to Soph Ruiz though.  No doubt a tough force to be reckoned with in the future!

with age,
Pretty much expected it. Thought Errol Daniyan at the beginning of the year might have a shot but foul trouble in too many games limited his minutes. Inconsistant as well. Ruiz showed up every game, Daniyan disappeared some nights. But he's going to improve and expect he and Ruiz will make the awards list next year. I'm going to go out on a limb here and predict Player of the Year honors for Ruiz next year. Only thing that might prevent that is, he's only a junior next season and some senior from another team having a strong year, might get the award. Similar to this year where they gave it to Morton. But Morton was deserving this year no question about that. Give me a call if you ever make it back up to Plattsburgh. I imagine your road trips will take quite a downturn now that your  son's career is over.

I agree Magic, the Eagles put up a valiant effort but couldn't knock down the 3's. If they only made 25% from the 3 they could have pulled it out. The first 8 points of the second overtime told the story for CM. Anyway the Eagles did me proud by not folding at midseason with all their distractions' and made it back to the dance after a year's absence. Congrats to the seniors, Coach Dunne and staff and the entire Eagle squad. Work for next season!!! Scooterman signing off

Fredonia and Oswego narrow first round ECAC Upstate victims. Freds taken 52-50 by Hartwick after hustling back from double figure deficit in second half.  G. MacBride 10 pts -- all first half, lead Devils. And Oswego early 10 pt. second half lead vanishes in 72-71 loss to St. John Fisher. Reuter's 30 (12x19fg) pace Lakers. Wick over host SJF 69-60 in final

You are definitely correct Magicman.  There will not be as many miles on my car next year.   I still will follow teams but not see as many in person.  I agree that Ruiz is in the mix for POY for 2010.  Think Plattsburg will be back too if they can recruit a good point guard. The rest of the team is pretty young and solid. And same holds for you if you ever get to Western NY!

with age,
From what I understand we already have one but he missed this year with a knee injury.

That could be the piece.  SUNYAC is up for grabs next year. Know Potsdam is losing a lot and I think B-port will be down a little also.  Buffalo St is young and will be tough.  Geneseo losing some talent as well.  Think New Platz if they get back the youngsters who were academically in eligible for 2nd term will be a force also.

magicman

I agree. SUNYAC is wide open next year. New Paltz is the big mystery as you mentioned. With those kids back they're a top 3 team. Really think Plattsburgh will be as well. Buff State is young but they do lose 2 of their best players. Just about everyone else has to reload.

scooterman

Hey guys don't count the Eagles out--Rumor is C. Parrish will return, J. Johnson, J. Zenkel, G. Williams and A. Marchand. That's not a bad nucleus with Tyler Mutton coming in and few others the Eagles will hopefully be reloading for another run. I had to add my two cents--Enjoy the offseason

with age came?

Hey Scooter - I did not know Parrish may be back.  That would be a huge boost for the Eagles indeed and I think definitely put them in the mix.  Time to suffer through "March Madness" and wait for golf season.
