Errol Daniyan hit 2 clutch free throws with 24 seconds left to play to give Plattsburgh State a 4 pt lead at 72-68. Husson's Joshua Jones hit a bucket to bring Husson within 2 and the Eagles fouled with 9 seconds remaining. Plattsburgh missed the front end of a 1&1 giving Husson 1 last chance. Cards pressure prevents a good look and Eagles game tying attempt not close. Daniyan finished with 20 pts on 9x13 fg 2x3 ft with 7 boards and was chosen as the tournament's MVP. Chris Ruiz also scored 20 pts on 8x18 fg 1x5 3's 3x4 ft and 5 boards. Steve Thomas hit double figures with 14 pts 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Dan Tangney had a good game with 5 pts, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. Husson's Jones led the Eagles with 20 pts, 16 rebounds and 3 blocks. Also in double figures for Husson was Matt Mackenzie with 19 and Brock Bradford with 18.

Cards managed to forge ahead by 10 with 4:50 left in the 1st half at 35-25 but Husson closed to within 6 39-33 at the break. Eagles narrowed the gap to 1 at 52-51 with 11 mins left to play but the Cards went on a 10-1 tear capped by a Thomas 3 pointer to equal their largest lead at 62-52. with 6:18 remaining. But the Eagles refused to go away and 2 ft's by Bradford tied the score at 66 with 1:53 left. 2 buckets inside by Ruiz and Daniyan's 2 free throws finished the scoring for the Cards.
Plattsburgh now off for a week and then travels to Clarkson for a Sunday Nov. 29th contest.

RIT wasted a 37 pt effort by Scott Young to fall to the Cadets from Norwich 81-80 in overtime. Young was 13 for 17 from the field, with 9 three pointers.

Yeah, Oneonta trailing 81-71 with 3:56 left!! Wins on T. Talbot hoop at 0:04. Talbot (18 pts), B. Beckford (22 pts), M. Grimes (16 pts) pace comeback. Talbot gives RDragons 83-82 edge at 0:29. IC's J. Marcus (20 pts) knots it on ft at 0:28. IC by 41-38 at half. Bombers C. Cruz-Rivas has 18 pts, three others with 10

Could this be a Red Dragons chase for the crown, as in Oneonta and Cortland? If still aboard, SUNYIT would qualify as a top contender. ITers coming off win over Utica College to thwart New Paltz, which falls despite 30x55fg and hefty games from J. Anderson (18 pts, 8x12fg), R. Sawyer (15 pts), S. Taylor (14 pts, 3 blks, 3 assts, 3 stls), O. Agyemang (8 assts). IT jr D. Golembiowski, who just reached 1,000 career pts, noted 30. Winners in 48-39 halftime lead

Geneseo beaten badly, down 35-22 at the break and by 26 later. K. Stevens 11 pts, 11 rebs; B. Simpson 11 pts, 7 rebs; J. Scott 10 pts

I definitely think that both Red Dragons will be in the hunt all year long. Plattsburgh State also merits strong consideration. Cardinals Chris Ruiz and Errol Daniyan now have a 3rd option on the team with the addition of Jr transfer Steve Thomas. Thomas, is a very athletic 6'2" shooting guard that can leap, drive to the hoop, and dish off.  After 4 games he's averaging 17.5 ppg, 7 rpg, and 3.2 assists. He also leads the team in minutes with 33 per game. Team has decent depth, and options at the point with newcomer, Jr Carl Munnerlyn. (8.0 ppg) Cards dropped a lot  of games last year in final  minutes of play. This year they will win most of those close ones I believe.

  Through games of 11-24
SUNYAC record vs. Empire 8 now stands at 2-5
SUNYAC record vs Liberty League now stands at 1-2

Concur, Your Magicness, the red Cardinal certainly in same breath with those other red types, and we'll throw in Oswego, Brockport and perhaps Buff State as being there, or just a step off. The  four others -- Geneseo, New Paltz, Fredonia and Potsdam have a way to go off early showings. And of that group keep an eye on NP. But overall it appears SUNYAC has some catching up to do with other top East circuits

Fredonia St. plays with the big boys and drops a 78-37 contest to the Divsion I Davidson Wildcats. Blue Devils Brad Cooper only Freds player in double figures with 10. Only down 32-20 at the break. The Wildcats turned up the heat, outscoring the Blue Devils 46- 17 in the 2nd half. Fredonia only shot 14x43 from the field and got out rebounded 45-24. At least they got to play in front of 3500 people. Blue Devils will look to break into the win column in their next game on Dec.1st at Houghton.

Bear, question posed on another board and we, too, curious. Not to knock the stuffing out of you on this post T'day buffet but what's up with the Bears? We say UP. Apparently have become even smaller. Holdover T. Kelson at 6-7 had been listed on roster, isn't now. Things going south in north country?
