Just to confirm - 58-47 is the correct score for the Cortland-Fredonia game. A little Live Stats error at the end showed the score as "Final" too soon. Jesse Winter hit two FT's to finish the scoring. Thanks. -- Fran

Brockport jumps out to a quick lead in the 2nd OT and is never headed. Jermaine Johnson opens with layup and 1 followed by Pburgh's S.Thomas with 2 ft's. Johnson hit 4 more ft's to extend lead after Pburgh turnovers and Plattsburgh gets to within 2 98-96  on D. Tangney 3 with 15 secs to play but Johnson hit 2 more ft's to close the door 100-96 final. Tough loss for the Cards after it looked good for them in the 1st OT.

Brockport has 5 guys in double figures: Brandon Williams with 21, Gerald Williams with 19, Jermaine Johnson with 16, Derek Klein with 11, and Zack McTigue with 10. Johnson had 10 rebounds and McTigue had 8.

Plattsburgh placed 4 guys in double figs led by Errol Daniyan who led all scorers with 27 pts and 18 rebounds. Carl Munnerlyn had 22 pts, Chris Ruiz had 17 pts, and Steve Thomas added 16 pts and 10 rebounds.

Port got killed on the boards, as usual, 50 -34 but Plattsburgh turned the ball over 10 more times than the Golden Eagles 26-16. Especially damaging was the 2 turnovers in the last 15 seconds of the 1st overtime and the 3 turnovers at the beginning of the 2nd OT. Brockport scored 35 points off the Cardinals TO's while Plattsburgh scored 20 off of Port's TO's. That's the most telling statistic of the game right there.

With Oneonta and Fredonia both losing tonight and Brockport, now 6-1 taking on last place Potsdam tomorrow the Golden Eagles will probably end the week with a 2 game lead in the SUNYAC race. Plattsburgh at Geneseo tomorrow looking to regroup after tonight's emotional loss, and hopefully even up their record at 4-4.

The SUNYAC Standings:

1.   Brockport       7-1
2.   Oneonta        5-3
2.   Cortland        5-3
4.   Plattsburgh   4-4
4.   New Paltz     4-4
4.   Buffalo St      4-4
4.   Fredonia       4-4
8.   Oswego        3-5
8.   Geneseo       3-5
10. Potsdam       1-7

Brockport clearly in the driver's seat. I guess size and rebounding doesn't matter when you are quick and play together as a team.
