No. 2 daughter a late '90s product and is a CPA in NYC ..........how nice!

And how swell are da Bears tonight. Seemed to be in rough waters in the second half .......trailing 50-45 at 6:57. At 6:39 C. Pierce begins the hunt with a 3-pter. R. Duquette hoop squares it at 6:08 and Pierce FTs at 5:24 complete the reversal. S. Schwartz lands a triple, Pierce a layuyp and J. Lambert a hoop. An 18-0 run is ended at 1:57. How nice (for da Bears)! What a turnaround. Pierce 19 pts(7x15fg), 9 rebs, 3 stls; Lambert 17 pts(5x6fg), 6 assts; Duquette 10 pts. Pdam 23x48fg, 6x15 3s, 15x19ft. Burgh's S. Fields 19 pts(8x13fg); J. Perez 10 pts. Cards 19x50fg, 3x19 3s; 13x16ft

Brockport by 34-33 at the half but yields to Fredonia second period opening bucket. Two ties ensue. Bucket gives Eagles 46-43 edge at 15:35. Freds don't score again until 57-43 hole at 12:17. Gap grows to 70-45 at 7:45. Bport's K. Green 19 pts, 12 rebs; G. Williams 16 pts; J. Ivy 12 pts, 3 stls; L. Legister 11 pts; D. Klein 6 assts. Eagles 26x55fg, 24x36ft. Devils D. Goodwin 13 pts(6x9fg); L. Smith 11 pts; J. Herrera 11 pts. Fredonia 22x49fg, 11x20ft

Back from the Bengals- Gen Knights game.  Very costly loss for the Bengals who on "paper" should have definitely won this game.  Just went stone cold at the start of the second half while the knights did a lot going to the hole hard and back door cuts for easy buckets.  See man ball.... if you don't it is a layup for the other team.  Riefenhauser was spectacular doing spin moves to the hoop and Hoy played very well also. Thought that the freshman Lyons looked good as well.  Bengals just had an off night shooting against a good team and ran out of time.  Another 30 seconds and they might have been able to pull it out.  Refs did not do the Bengals any favors on their home court either.  Couple of very late "bail out" calls very late in the game probably helped decide the game but if the Bengals had just shot at a tolerable level in the beginning of the second half it would not have mattered.  You just can't let good teams hang around and then decide you are going to "turn it on in the last 2 minutes and win".  9 point lead at the half with momemtum just faded fast in the second half.  I almost hope that the Bengals can put it together and win the YAC tournament because they are so athletic they could do some damage in the NCAA tournament if they get the chance. Lakers are a lock anyway so I'd like to have a few more Eastern teams in there and none of the leagues have a chance at two teams going except the YAC should Lakers not win the league tournament.  Must say I meant Bengals in person and he is a gentlemen. Hope he is not "mad at me for bringing bad luck."

Finally a W. Yeah!!!!!   Now we need to finish the season with 3 more solid wins and use it to build for next year!!  Go Bears

Four games on tap in the League today all with 4:00 PM starting times.

Oswego at New Paltz

Lakers like old man river and just keep rolling along. Trying for their 29th straight regular season win. I think you have to go back to the great Potsdam teams of the 80's to match a streak of this length. New Paltz caught a break with Plattsburgh's loss to the Bears last night in a game that looked, on paper, to be one for the Cardinal's win column. Looks like the game against the Cardinals, in New Paltz on Valentine's day, will finalize those teams seeding for the tournament. Hope the Hawks will show the Cards a whole lotta love then. As for today's contest it should be another long afternoon for New Paltz. Oswego is favored to win by 11 points and the Hawks will be hard pressed to keep it that close. I think the Lakers take this one 81-67.

Cortland at Oneonta

Red Dragons vs Red Dragons. I think I'll go with the Cortland variety as they are clearly the hotter of the two species. Oddsmakers favor Cortland by 10 points and I don't think it will be any closer. Cortland 78 Oneonta 63.

Geneseo at Fredonia

Blue on Blue, Bobby Vinton would be pleased.  Blue Knights with a big win last night over Buff State. Can't afford a letdown today against the Blue Devils, a team that stole one back in January on a zebra's whistle with just tenths of a second left on the clock. With 3 out of 4 wins against Buffalo State and Cortland, the Blue Knights will own the tiebreaker aginst Brockport and Fredonia unless the Blue Devils get real lucky next weekend. Oddsmakers have made Fredonia a 4 point favorite but I like Geneseo to gain a measure of revenge. I think the Blue Knights come out of this one less BLUE than the Blue Devils. Geneseo 64 Fredonia 60.

Brockport at Buffalo State

Bengals with a slip last night that could prove costly come Selection Day. Unless some of the East teams falter badly over the next 2 weeks, Buffalo State may have to repeat their SUNYAC tournament success of last year. Revenge didn't work last night against Geneseo, so maybe it will today against the Eagles. Brockport handled the Bengals back in January without Justin Mitchell by 24 points. Today the Eagles are 7 point underdogs. I'm going with the Bengals 88-81 in this one.

Bear or jdex,

Can either of you pull in the streaming video feed on the Buffalo State-Brockport game. I've had trouble with Buffalo State videos all year long. I can get everyone else's feed but never the one coming from Buff State. Once in a while i can get it but it's extremely spotty. Just wondering if it's only me or if it's that way for everyone. Thanks

Magic

No luck here, and I have high speed cable.

P.S.  No Justin Mitchell for Bengals

Port lead by 5 at Half

P.S.  If Bears wind up tied at 5-13 with Cards, Bears win over Geneseo gives them TB

If they wind up at 6-12, then Cards must beat Geneseo to neutralize TB.

Cards need two wins (or two bear losses) to clinch the playoff spot
