All ten teams teams in action tonight with all games starting at 8:00 PM

Fredonia State at Cortland State

Blue Devils with an outside chance of of finishing in 4th place and hosting a playoff game. They would need an awful lot of help though and I don't see them getting it. A Cortland win tonight, coupled with a Buff State loss to Oswego, would clinch the 2nd seed for the Red Dragons. Cortland won the first matchup at Fredonia by 4 points and the oddsmakers have them favored tonight at home by 8 points. I'll go with Cortland to win this one 74- 67.

New Paltz State at Oneonta State

Hawks final regular season contest and are using this game as a tune up for Tuesday night's opening round matchup against Oswego. Oneonta's season ends tonight and these Red Dragon's would love to close out a dismal year with a victory to give them bookend wins on a schedule that had few highlites. Posted line has this game as a pick 'em but I like New Paltz to get some momentum heading into the playoffs. (Not that it will help much because I can't see them upsetting the Lakers on Tuesday) The Hawks come away with a 77-67 win.

Potsdam State at Geneseo State

Bears have nothing to play for here after losing to Oneonta on Tuesday night. Blue Knights have lots to play for in hopes of securing the 3rd or 4th seed in the tournament. Bears biggest win of the year came against Geneseo back in December. Pointspread favors Geneseo by 10 but I think the Bears will be hard pressed to keep it that close. Geneseo gets their revenge and will win going away, 75-58.

Plattsburgh State at Brockport State

Plattsburgh has locked up the 7th seed and is looking to fine tune their game for the playoffs. Brockport needs to keep pace with Geneseo and actually needs the Blue Knights to lose one of their remaining 2 games to have a chance for the 4th seed or the third seed if Buff State loses their final 2 games. Brockport lost to the Cardinals back in December but were missing AC performer Kyheem Green in that contest. With Green in the lineup and more to play for than the Cards I think the Eagles will get the job done tonight. Pointspread has them favored by 10 but i think the Cards will kepp it closer than that. I see a final score of Brockport 82 Plattsburgh 75.

Buffalo State at Oswego State

#16 Oswego State looking to duplicate the Cardinals of 2007-08 with an 18-0 sweep of the regular season. This could be their toughest test as the Bengals have backed themselves into a corner with 2 losses last weekend that put a damper on their chances of gaining an at large bid to the NCAA tournament. They can't afford another loss and may have already ruined any hope of a Pool C bid. Bengals certainly have more to play for here as they can still gain a 2nd seed in the playoffs if they win tonight and tomorrow against Cortland. Game will feature two of the premier 3 point shooters in D3 as Oswego's Sean Michele leads the nation in 3 point percentage, as he is hitting 52.5% of his attempts from beyond the arc. Michele has connected on 63 treys in 120 attempts. Bengal's Jake Simmons is 27th in the country in that same category as he has made 81 of 195 attempts for a 41.5% figure. Simmons is also 8th in the nation in 3 pointers made per game with 3.4, while Michele is 46th in that category with 2.7 made per game. Jake is also 8th in the nation in most 3 point field goals made with his total of 81. Chad Burridge now has totaled 1737 points in an Oswego State uniform. His brother Mat who played for the Lakers from 2003 thru 2007 totaled 1243 points. Chad needs 20 more points and the two brothers will have reached the 3000 point mark in combined points. Certainly a milestone that not many siblings can claim. Tonught's game is not going to be an easy one for the Bengals. With no Justin Mitchell in the lineup I don't think that Buffalo will be able to handle both Burridge and Hayden Ward on the inside. If they do double up on those guys, Michele, Chris Gilkes or Conor Monaghan will make them pay. And the Lakers have another weapon they didn't have in the first game against the Bengals with 6'8" Josh Delfino who tranferred to Oswego in January. Bengalsrule has guaranteed a Buffalo State victory tonight but I think he OD'd on the Orange Kool-Aid he had prior to the game. Oddsmakers have the Lakers as a 5 point favorite and after they beat a healthy Bengals squad back in Buffalo in December, I don't think a shorthanded Buff State team will be able to pull one out tonight. I'm going with the Lakers here 86-77.

Brockport State leads Plattsburgh State 30-26 at the half. Lance Legister leads the Eagles with 7 points and John Perez leads the Cardinals also with 7 points. Brockport up 26-15 but Cards come back to close within 4 on two late 3 pointers by Junghoon Roh.

Cortland was down by as much as 12 points on several occasions in the first half the last at 30-18 with 5:35 to play but the Red Dragons end the half on a 16-3 run to go into the break with a 34-33 advantage. Brian Manning with 15 points leads the Red Dragons.
Damien Goodwin with 12 and Julius Bryant with 11 lead Fredonia.

Geneseo leads Potsdam 40 -26 at the half. Jordan Jones with 10 for the Blue Knights and Rob Duquette with 10 for the Bears. Game was even through the first 10 minutes but the Blue Knights went on top 18-12 and extended it to their largest lead with a basket at the buzzer by Ryan Riefenhauser.

Oswego and Buffalo State going at it tooth and nail as the Lakers go into the break with a 39-36 halftime lead. Jake Simmons is on fire for the Bengals with 22 1st half points. Second leading scorer on the bengals has 4 points. Simmons is 8 for 11 from the field and 3 for 5 from beyond the arc. He hit a couple of 3's that were way beyond the arc. Chad Burridge leads a balanced Oswego attack with 9 points as the Lakers have used the 3 ball better than the Bengals. Oswego is 7 for 13 from downtown as Sean Michele and Ryan Sheridan both have a pair of triples. Burridge, Chris Gilkes and Conor Monaghan also have each nailed a 3 pointer. Lakers 14 of 28 from the field.

New Paltz holds a slim 34-33 lead over Oneonta at halftime. Largest lead was a 20-15 advantage by New Paltz with 10:34 to play. Matt Devine leads the Hawks with 14 points and Frankie Kelly tops Oneonta with 13 points.

Buffalo State comes back from a 9 point 52-43 deficit to go back in front 56-53 on a 10-0 run.

Geneseo defeats Potsdam 74-51. Connor Fedge with 18, Ryan Riefenhauser with 14 and Jordan Jones with 13 lead the Blue Knights.
Curtis Pierce with 13 and Rob Duquette with 12 pace the Bears.

Geneseo with a victory over Plattsburgh tomorrow afternoon will claim at least the 4th seed and a home game in the playoffs.

#3908
Bengals with an old fashioned 3 point play by Ahmed Nagaya and a steal and basket by Nico McLean give Buff State a 70-61 lead over the Lakers with about 7 minutes to play.

magicman

Brockport all over Plattsburgh 87-67 to keep pace with Geneseo.

Oswego down 73-63 goes on a 12-0 run, the last 5 points on a Hayden Ward 3 pointer followed by 2 free throws by Ward, to take a 75-73 lead with 1:12 left to play.

magicman

Cortland downs Fredonia 72-68 to claim at least a 3rd seed.

Oswego still up 75-73 at the line and Lakers miss both free throws and a chance to make it a 2 possession game. Bengals come down and almost turn it over but end up with a jump ball and manage to keep possession. 20 seconds to go. Bengals Roderick Epps drives to the hoop and misses the shot and Hayden Ward grabs the rebound and is fouled. He makes the 1st and makes the 2nd to make it a 4 point lead. Bengals fail to score and Burridge is fouled. He makes 1 of 2 to make it 78-73 and that's a final.

Cortland clutch at the foul line to withstand Fredonia comeback from 12 point hole midway through second half. Reminiscent of opening period when RDragons shot down 12 point deficit about 10' in as D. Goodwin shot lights out early and B. Manning brought CSt. back. But down the stretch Corts held 67-59 lead at 1:21 on FTs. Freds L. Smith nailed a trey at 1:15 and the pressure cooker began. J. Bryant had Devils within 67-64 on stickback at 1:04. H. Hefele hiked lead to four on FT at 0:39. Bryant delivered a hoop at 0:28. J. Winter two FTs at 0:19 for 70-66 edge. Goodwin fouled on shot beyond the arc and hit first two at 0:11. Manning sealed it from the stripe at 0:08.

Manning with 22 pts (8x14fg, 5x8 3s), 7 rebs; Winter 12 pts(8x9ft), 4assts; Hefele 11 pts; K. McMahon 7 rebs. Dragons 18x24ft, Freds 7x10ft. Devils Bryant 23 pts(10x17fg), 10 rebs; Goodwin 16 pts(5x7fg, 4x5 3s including 4x4 before anyone broke a sweat)
