Big win for Oswego State last night against Geneseo. I think it will be Oswego and Cortland in the SUNYAC Championship but who knows. Brockport almost pulled off an Upset over Cortland. still made a great comeback against a very good Cortland team

I agree with the first part ... "Big Win". :D

Not so fast on part II though... "Oswego and Cortland in the SUNYAC Championship" >:(

You are right...  "who knows?" ;)

Four games on tap tonight in the SUNYAC. All games start at 8:00 PM.

Potsdam State at New Paltz State

Bears won the first go around in Potsdam two weeks ago as the teams played a double overtime thriller. Hawks looking to return the favor. Both teams playing for pride as the playoffs look to be unreachable. Oddsmakers have made the Hawks a 6 point favorite. That sounds about right. New Platz wns 87-82.

Cortland State at Fredonia State

Red Dragons back in first place for the first time since early December. They won't want to have a letdown here against 9th place Fredonia. Point spread has Cortland favored by 15. I think it might be more. Red Dragons go to their bench midway through the 2nd half to rest up for the Saturday matinee against Buffalo State. Cortland takes this one 83-61.

Oswego State at Buffalo State

This is the game of the night as the Bengals look to avenge an earlier loss to the Lakers in Oswego. Both teams looking to improve their seeding and a Buffalo State win would tie them with Oswego. Oddsmakers have favored the Bengals by a single point. I'd feel better about this game if a certain Buffalo State big man was back on the roster, but I don't see him listed. Lakers now have the full time services of D2 tranfer Daniel Ross who has moved into a starting position and is averaging double figures in his last 3 games. Tough game to pick, I think the Lakers have the edge here with their inside game but I'm going to go with the Bengals and their backcourt duo of Simmons and Epps. Bengals in a close one 83-80.

Plattsburgh State at Oneonta State

Plattsburgh makes their final road trip of the season and needs to win both games this weekend if they have any hopes of claiming the top spot in the conference race. The Red Dragons will try and pull off another upset of a playoff bound team. Plattsburgh won at home 2 weeks ago by an 82-75 score but Oneonta played nothing like a last place team in that encounter. The Cards opened up double digit leads in the 1st half and the 2nd but each time Oneonta was able to come back and actually had the lead at 65-64 and 67-66 with only 4:30 remaining in the game. Plattsburgh's back up point guard, Mike Mitchell, scored 14 points in the final 9 minutes to bail the Cardinals out, but if they give Oneonta those same opportunities tonight the Red Dragons' Zach Mager and company may just turn the tables. Mager, only a sophomore, is the 6th leading scorer in the YAC with 18.4 ppg and put up some big numbers against Plattsburgh in the 1st game with 26 points and 8 rebounds. He got plenty of help from Jackson Zuvic and Frankie Kelly. The Cardinals can put points up in a hurry and if they do get out to a sizeable lead they need to focus on taking care of business. Oneonta, with basically no chance for postseason action, will play all of their remaining games as if they were  playoff games. They're going to make someone pay, i hope it's not the Cards tonight. The point spread has Plattsburgh favored by 8 but I think the Cards will win by double digits. It won't be a blowout though it'll be 78-67.

New Paltz over Potsdam 37-29 at the half.  Bears down early 23-8 fought back to tie it up at 25 on a Colin Peterson triple with 5:48 to play. Hawks ended the half on a 12-4 run tomake it an 8 point margin.

Matt Devine with 10 points to lead the Hawks. Taylor Sowah with 7.

Curtis Pierce and brandon Williams with 7 each to lead the Bears. No Rob Duquette and no Mark Lake. I knew Duquette was out with an ankle injury but no word on why Lake is missing. Bears definitely shorthanded in this one.

I tried to post this at 9:45 last night and thought my computer was acting up. Switched to another computer and ran into the same problem. Realized it must be the site having a few problems and then shortly after that a message would appear that the site had crashed. Never been down that long as far as I can remember. Sent Pat a message that I was like a junkie with out a fix. Help!!!

What would we do if there was suddenly no D3hoops. That's a scary thought.  I don't even want to think about it.

Anyway, final scores:

Plattsburgh defeats Oneonta 86-77

Buffalo State defeats Oswego 88-81

That's 12 hours later that I intended to post this, which is about how long the site was down.
