Cstate4

Yes well i have been reading the things you people have been putting up here these past few years and i have been disgusted with wat i have been reading recently. You guys totally forgot that Cortland will possibly be returning 13 players some you prolly no nothing about because they were playing behind great players such as Frank, Simon, Rodney and Scott. So yea there is a lot of talent returning for C-state in which they will prolly shock you guys again because we are being counted out again. We enjoy being the underdogs. So U worry about Sunyit who might not even get all those players back like Reeves yea Lambard will return cuz he's young and talented. Cortland will be a very veteran orientated team next year so continue to count us out we enjoy it.

Cstate4

One more thing really y isnt cortland among the teams considered for next year maybe you guys should check the roster and look and find out also about some of the players returning. Please answer this though.
Why isnt Cortland considered one of the teams favored next year? >:(

John McGraw

Registration e-mail shows that Cstate4 is current Red Dragon hoopster Quentin Merrit, or someone that's using the e-mail address Merritt71@cortland.edu. Just figured I'd throw that out there.

In my view, Cortland is on the radar screen for next year, but the Dragons lose a lot of senior leadership. Next year, the Jutton and Headley class will be the senior class. Among those upperclassmen, someone's going to have to step into the leadership role that Ranieri and Skrelja had this past season. I think the bigger loss on the floor is Taggert. While Frank and Simon had leadership, Taggert had size and was a difference maker down low. Not all the teams in the SUNYAC have a big guy on the block. Two years ago, Potsdam had Eldon Harris and Christian Turner, each around 6'6-6'7. This year, Plattsburgh had Gibbs-Smith, Gorham and Hatch all 6'6 and above. And Cortland had Taggert. Without Taggert, Cortland is back to where they were before they had him. Cortland will contend, but they'll be in the middle of the pack. If I had to take a favorite right now, I'd say SUNYIT. Look what Coach Murphy did in just one year. Worst team in the league to SUNYAC championship game. Outside of SUNYIT, the entire league will be wide open.

Does anyone know when the All-American team are announced?....Also do Belluci and/or Barton have a chance?

It looks like we have another "Gibbs-Smith" poster on our hands in CState4.  You know, one of those insecure players  who, instead of letting his play do his talking, has to come on here and try to make a case for himself and his team.  At least GS actually had the opportunity to let his play speak for him...your ass was on the bench this season.  Which leads me to my next point.  If what Cortland State has coming back was so good then Span would have found a way to get you some minutes.  I have no problem in saying that Hedley, Jutton, and Maggiacomo are talented, but as for you and the rest...respect is earned not given.  Let your play do the talking next year.  I like to hear some other opinions as to who they project to be the upper tier of the YAC next year.

DV, you need to look a little closer.  No doubt that C-state has big shoes to fill in losing Scott, Simon, and Frank, but they have a lot of talent returning.  There's a bunch of guys, QM included, who played big roles this season and last.  The line-up at C-state seems very strategic or role oreinted.  See earlier references to point guard by committee in this forum.  And when Simon came off the bench, was it to replace Taggart or the starting point guard of the week?

The other thing to keep in mind is player determination. Frank and Simon were often starters on one of the worst teams in C-state history and they were the keys to one of the best.  Many of the recruits who came after them were better than they were as freshmen; the question remains whether they will become as good as Frank and Simon did as juniors and seniors.

Bad news out of Oswego, Nick Perioli PG for the Lakers is awaiting ACL and MCL surgery from and injury sustained in June.. My best wishes for a speedy return.. The Lakers with out him, are in trouble..

Cortland awaiting word from NCAA regarding petition to have Scott Taggart eligible for another season. Incoming recruits include pair of big men (6-6ish) from Syracuse area

Who is the leading candidate for the SunyIT job?  I have heard some interesting names but things have been tight lipped down in Utica.  Rumor has it Bill Mitchell from Potsdam St. (remember him??)  wants to get back into coaching.  Would be a wonderful choice for the Wildcats.

Predictions for 06-07

The only thing that is sure is that Cortland is got to be a tip pick getting 6th year seniors extra seasons.  Any other predictions

jdex

Sixth year senior? Don't think so. Eligibility question goes back to J.C. days when he encountered some medical problems. Played one season w/Cortland. BUT it says here Taggart wasn't granted another season w/Red Dragons.

What's the story at SUNY Tech? Murph gone? Retiring?

New Paltz has new facility for Coach Doug P.

Thanks to Liberty board we learn Murphy exits Utica Tech for D1 Northeastern in Boston where onetime Hamilton pupil Bill Coen is head coach. Murphy will assist and return to cny for NE's opening game in mid-November vs. Syracuse.
