Geneseo falls to Roberts Wesleyan  85-82 after leading by a 78-69 score with 3:20 left to play. Knights get outscored 10-0 as the Redhawks forge into a 79-78 advantage. Justin Ringen scores to put Geneseo back in front but the Redhawks close out the Knights with a 6-2 run to end up on top. Tough loss for the Knights and one they will have 2nd thoughts about for a while.

That lead with 3:20 was about the point in the game I walked in the door at the Palestra. #justsayin

So it's official then... I can now call you the SUNYAC JINX. ???   :D

Cortland heading Buffalo St. 37-32 at the break ......ragged, ragged we say. Both teams under 40 percent from the field in turnover-filled fray. Frosh guard Zay Cotton .....Zay Cotton?? ....paces RDragons with 10 points. Cotton debuts. Just what Corts need, another body. Soph newcomer D. Hampton figures in this contest as well. B. Estarfaa in action. No Z. Lydon. D. Grayer's nine points lead Bengals

Final score...Brockport State 67  St. John Fisher 50

The Golden Eagles led this game from start to finish and were up by double digits at halftime. The 2nd half was more of the same and Port was never really threatened. I expected a much closer game and am sure I wasn't alone on that regard. Video feed from Robert Wesleyan was free and of decent quality but there was no announcer or score on screen. Better then the Geneseo game however which was played at Rochester and you had to pay 7 bucks to see it. I watched the free game. ;) Too bad that the powers to be at Rochester, had to be such grinches for the final Wendy's Classic and charge the public to watch their webcasts. :P  No one else hosting a Wendy's Classic game tried to fleece money from us. 8-)

Nice win by the Golden Eagles to get back on the winning track. I think it just may knock St. John Fisher right out of the Top 25. The loss to RIT would have seen them tumble about 10 spots or so, but back to back losses and this one by a healthy margin, spells trouble in River City for the Cardinals. Still time to right the ship however.

Plattsburgh State defeats New Paltz 81-71.

I'm a little ticked off at Zack Coleman right now. I predicted an 82-71 Plattsburgh victory. I would have gotten that score right on the button except Mr.Coleman missed a free throw with 21 seconds left in the game. I can be  too mad however, because it was the front end of a 1&1. If he makes that 1st one and then makes the next one I still miss my perfect prediction by a point. He could have made then missed...I would have been alright with that. ;D

Nico McLean with a 3 point bomb to tie Cortland at 76 with 2.5 seconds left. Cortland takes a time out but turns it over with .2 seconds left. Buff State can't get anything on the inbounds pass and we head to overtime.

jdex

Cortland and Buffalo St. play up to their roles in second half ..........Bengals always looking up in the second period. Never lead. Rebounding keeps Buff St. alive. To OT, M. Henry with 18 pts, 9 rebs for BS. B. Estarfaa 17 pts for Corts ......

magicman

Oswego State barely defeats Fredonia and needs overtime to do it by a 67-62 final score.

Down to the wire for the 2nd time in Buffalo. Tied at 81, 26 seconds to go and the Bengals with the ball coming out of a timeout.

N. McLean gives Buff St. the lead at 0:08 .......Cortland's own JP Reagan wins it at 0:01 with 3 pointer ....Cortland 84, BS 83 OT

magicman

A jumper by Nico McLean gives the Bengals the lead with 8 seconds to go but Cortland's JP Reagan buries the 3 pointer with 1 second left on the clock to make  winners out of the Red Dragons, 84-83.
Hell of a finish...make that 2 finishes and I'm sure my friend jdex would concur. :D

All-Time

What a crazy night of basketball in the SUNYAC
I have to hand it to The Red Dragons of Cortland as they went into the Buffalo State Sports arena and took down the Bengals in a fantastic finish.
Oswego needs overtime to beat Fredonia, can someone give Brian Sortino some help. This kid does it all for Oswego.
Plattsburgh and Kyle Richardson prevail in the 2nd half against New Paltz and get the win.
Brockport beating up St John Fisher, they will definitely be out of the top 25.
Oneonta taking care of business against Potsdam. Jackson Zuvic has that skip in his step and is playing like his freshman year when he should have won ROY.
Geneseo loses a close one at the end to Roberts Wesleyan.
Can't wait until tomorrows games.

Was beginning to wonder about this pair at halftime. Neither looked the part of a contendahhhh .....

Came to life in a whiz of a second half. Cortland grabs the lead in the opening period 37-32 and widens the gap to double digits. M. Henry leads the Bengals back. Finally pull even at 66 with 3:33 left in reg. Twas shortlived. B. Estarfaa immediately lands a trey from the left corner. Corts stretch the lead to 74-67. RDragons still up 76-71 on S. Martinez bucket with less than a minute left. Back charge the Buffs with J. Glover steal leading to N. McLean's game-knotting long-range three, his first trey in six attempts. To OT at 76-76

Overtime sees R. Freeman provide BS with 79-76 lead at 3:22. JP Reagan layup and accompanying FT ties it quickly. CSt ahead 81-79 at 1:22 on G. Carter acrobatic deuce. L. Moise returns with BS bucket at 1:03. Cortland misses from the field and BS has the ball at 0:26. Timeout ensues. N. McLean hoop in the paint at 0:08 sends Bengals to the fore. Reagan nails his game-winning three from the right wing at 0:01.

Five players from each side in double figures in points. Estarfaa 17 over 44' leads Cortland. C. Joseph nets 12 in 35', Reagan 11 (7 rebs) in 16', D. Hampton 10 (9 rebs) in 23' and newcomer Z. Cotton 10 (4x5fg) in the opening half. Henry with 18 (11 rebs) in 31' for BS before fouling out in OT. McLean 17 (6 assts, 4 stls) in 42', L. Smith 12 in 35', R. Freeman 12, D. Grayer 12
Cortland 32x72fg, 13x29 3s, 7x12ft, 48 rebs, 18 turnovers (10 by half). Bengals go 33x77fg, 8x24 3s, 9x17ft, 47 rebs, 13 turnovers (9 by half)

CSt, 4-1, in Saturday matinee at Fredonia which played regarded Oswego tough on Friday. Bengals 3-2 and host Oswego Saturday

Oneonta defeats Potsdam by a final score of 87-58.

That's pretty close to the prediction I had of an 86-62 Red Dragon win. Oneonta held up their end of the bargain  but the Bears couldn't quite get into the 60's. Only missed the total by 3 points.

Magicman,

+k for all the great info on this board. I don't post much because basketball isn't really my best area of knowledge but coming here gets me up to speed fast!
