Lucky Lakers...first time ever in the Sweet 16 and they get to host a sectional. It doesn't get any better than that. 8-)  Thank God for upsets and mileage charts. ;D      Go Lakers...no sense in stopping now...the stars are aligned and my magic will be working overtime. :D

Dave 'd-mac' McHugh

It may have been one of the best weekends of the Division III basketball tournaments in recent history. Upsets, close finishes, buzzer beaters, and more. Survive and advance hasn't fit better as a description than after the first two rounds of this year's championships.

Tonight, Dave McHugh recaps it all on Hoopsville tonight. From those who surprised to those who survived. Even the favorites had their moments. Dave will talk to many who are not only still playing, but get a chance to host next weekend and hope it helps them get to the final four.

Hoopsville hits the air at 7pm ET here: http://www.d3hoops.com/hoopsville/archives/2015-16/mar6

Guests include (in order of apperance):
- Brian Sortino, Oswego State junior guard
- Jason Leone, Oswego State men's coach
- John Tauer, No. 8 St. Thomas men's coach (Pat Coleman interview)
- Trevor Woodruff, No. 3 Scranton women's coach

All-Time

Brian Sortino should be highly considered for All American status this season.
He has be a clutch performer all season and Oswego isn't in the sweet 16 without him.
Congratulations to Oswego and Coach Leone for a fantastic season.
Looking forward to see them in the Final 4.
GO LAKERS

I'm asking all the people that visit this board to take the time to help get the East Region another player in the All Star game that takes place during the Final Four weekend in Salem Virginia. Go to this link and cast your ballot for Kyle Richardson from Plattsburgh State:

  http://www.d3hoops.com/notables/2016/03/nabc-all-star-voting

You may have to click the refresh button if the vote totals already show up. So if they are showing a percentage for each player click refresh.

You can vote once for each browser you have, so if you have 2 computers vote on each of them. We can only vote from now until noon on Wednesday, so DON'T wait and DO spread the news to your friends.
We need all the help we can muster to get Kyle to Virginia.

You don't have to be a registered user of the D3hoops website. Just pull up the page go to the link and cast your ballot. So get your wives, girl friends, mistresses, sons, daughters, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents and every friend you have, or ever did have, to jump online and vote as well. Kyle will need all the help he can get because the other regions have more schools than our region does.

Thanks for your help. 8-)

Way ahead of you Magicman
I already voted for Mr. Richardson
It would be a great way to end his college career

Thanks All Time,

The Cardinals fans are sure hoping we can get him to Virginia.

Magicman....just voted for your player :). Keep it quite as those Nescac posters can get mean.
Amherst women's hockey team just got beaten by Middlebury for the Nescac title in OT.  Now they have to meet Plattsburgh in your house :'(. As someone said somewhere at some time....be kind and play nice with the Amherst ladies hockey team.

Magicman, Sorry the Men's hockey Cardinals did not get a bid. According to the hockey board, it looks as if their scheduling ended up not being enough (also they lost to a team they were competing against for a bid, Williams, even though they outshot them by more than 30). Tough sledding getting into the hockey tournament!

Had a feeling the news might be bad after the loss on Saturday night. Not a good weekend for the Cardinal men, in any sport. Basketball..lost, Hockey...lost, and Baseball lost 4 of 5. Good thing the Lacrosse team had the weekend off. :D

Did you vote  for Kyle yet?

pg04

I voted! I'm glad they give a chance for a fan vote.

And I thought you were coming on this board to tell me that you also voted for Kyle Richardson.  ;)

Not very many Catholic fans voting for Fonville...he's in next to last place with only 5% of the vote. You might as well back a winner and vote for Kyle. ;)

I don't think "lucky" does it justice...I'd say "miraculous" is more like it.  Enjoy the atmosphere, 'cause hosting a sectional w/the opportunity to get to the final 4 is hard to come by, even if you're having a great season...this is CNU's sixth sweet 16 and they've hosted the sectional once.  Although, I will say that I'm not sure if CNU was able to host in their former facility...
