Brockport and Plattsburgh are clearly the two best teams in the league. There is an outside chance that a team like SUNYIT make another run like they did last year but I except both the Golden Eagles and the Cardinals to meet for the league championship. Both teams are well coached and both have postseason experience. The only postseason experience Grimmer has coaching is watching the SUNYAC awards ceremony in Utica.

Sure has that look heading to stretch. If things ended today Bport in hosting role throughout. Eagles, minus solid semester pickups, won at the Burgh by 2 on 12/1 in only meeting. ITers sure have potential. Really like LaBoard.

See Cortland in vital outing Friday at Buffs. They're tied for eighth, with sliding BS sked edge -- Corts, NP, Freds all at home and closing at Oswego. Corts tough road literally -- at BS, Pdam, Port and finishing home vs. Freds. Dragons soph Niehoff, frosh Lewis have made big headway. Missing 6-8 jr Sargent and capt. Headley of late

And what the heck is up with Geneseo? Returning personnel ......and has lost 5 straight!

The Golden Eagles are 17-4 overall and 16-4 in region games and are currently ranked 2nd in the East Region behind St. Lawrence University. The Golden Eagles beat St. Lawrence in early January 102-72 in Tuttle North Gymnasium at Brockport.

Still don't understand how SLU can be ranked ahead of 'port, particularly when 'port beat SLU by 30?

'port has won 8 in a row, 5 of last 6 recent wins of the "dumptruck" variety.

The bear i am with you on that one im not really sure how st lawrence is ahead of bport. I saw that game that bport steam rolled st lawrence and it got pretty ugly for the visitors. I would be ok with someone like the u of r ahead of the port because they play such a tough schedule but not st lawrence. Brockport has been on a roll ever since whitmore put parish in the starting lineup. Brockport is only 1 game ahead of platts but they  hold the tiebreak over them, with only 4 games left it will be pretty tough for them to pass bport in the standings. Brockport finishes up with 3 of there 4 at home so i dont expect a melt down.

My first inclination was to support SLU with their better record but upon closer inspection I too agree.  SLU doesn't have a signature win.  Couple of OK wins over Middlebury and over Vassar the second time around.  I just think that Bport has yet to be forgiven for that miserable stretch of 3 losses to Gen State, SJF and Oswego.  I too agree that Bport is better than SLU but the SUNYAC seems down to me this year as a whole with a lot of teams hovering around .500. The only 2 teams that seem to be making a push are the port and platt so the weakness of the league may be figuring in too.  I will say that I truly think that Rochester and NYU are the best teams in the state with Utica and bport and SLU and Hamilton after them.

Friday's games send Pburgh to Geneseo, Pdam to Bport, Corts to Buff St, IT to Oneonta, and NP to Oswego if the Paltz sled makes it

Saturday has Oneonta trying to make it to snowbound Oswego, Pdam at Geneseo, NP at BS, and IT at Fredonia

SUNYAC stacks up ........Bport 10-2(17-4), Pburgh 9-3(14-6), Oneonta 8-4(10-11), Oswego 7-5(11-10), IT 7-5(13-8), Geneseo 6-6(12-9), Pdam 5-6(8-12), BS 4-8(9-11), CSt 4-8(8-13), NP 3-8(10-10), Freds 2-10(5-15)

Anyone have any guess re league's best player? A real chore this season, yes? A. Williams of Pburgh, C. Reaves or C. LaBoard of IT, T. Franze of Oswego, D. Brown, others??????? A. F. H. of NP a first teamer it would seem.

Many to be considered for leagues best player but for my $$ it is Sherod Harris. Brockport wins its 9th straight sunyac game tonight and pretty much have locked up home court advantage throughout. They have a 2 game lead with 3 to go and own tie breakers over just about everyone.  Sherod harris goes for 23 pts tonight and brother shawn has 21 pts 7 reb and 7 assts. Good work GOLDEN EAGLES!!!!!

IT shoots down 43-38 Oneonta edge at intermission. C. LaBoard 31 pts(10x16fg, 2x5 3s, 9x10ft) 13 rebs, 2 assts, 3 stls; C. Reaves 15 pts(7x18fg, 0x6 3s) 3 assts, 5 stls; A. Edwards 11 pts(3x3fg, 1x1 3, 4x4ft) 4 assts in 25' reserve role; E. Belone 10 pts(3x12fg) 8 rebs. Cats 28x64fg, 8x27 3s, 15x20ft, 42 rebs. Oneonta makes 16 of first 29fg, winds up 30x61, 9x21 3s, 5x13ft. E. Bratt 19 pts(7x12fg, 5x7 3s); J. Murphy 11 pts(4x6fg); W. Heslin 10 pts(4x10fg); M. Reardon 5 assts, 5 stls

Sherod Harris certainly in most outstanding mix. We hesitate cause he came aboard 2nd semester, which may not mean much considering so few games played 1st semester. Believe he missed three conf. games

Oswego's E. Roberson `3' at 4:12 snaps 75-all tie. M. Burridge 19 pts, 15 rebs; Roberson 17 pts; K. Reuter 17 pts; D. White 11 pts; T. Franze 15 pts. Lakers 7x12 3s. NP's J. Hauser 28 pts, T. Cannon 16, A. Foluke-Henderson 16, M. Irwin 11, M. Hauser 10

Great to get out from under 8' of snow and visit balmy Brockport for sun, fun, and basketball. As one close to Bears ball commented at the half - "We've played lots of good halves." Not many back to back both implied and prophetic.

Most Outstanding Player: Sherod Harris. Wildly entertaining, looks like AI (hey, I'm 60+ and sitting in row 30), worth Geneseo prices to see. Kudos to the Port - $2 admission for seniors.

MVP (if SUNYAC had one): Cards AW. They can't leave home without him.

Just wanted to thank you for all the scores and info you've posted over the past few years. I don't know how you do it but you are the best.
Also wanted to mention that Siskavich is a potsdam player and that was why you didn't have any info on him for the geneseo-plattsburgh game.
Sounds like the cardinals had a little letdown against geneseo.

SLU doesn't have a signature win.

"Signature wins" isn't really one of the criteria for regional rankings. :)

St. Lawrence entered the day with an .850 regional winning percentage and a 10.800 Quality of Wins Index. Brockport entered the day with an .800 and a 10.300. That's not overly close in the QOWI department and I can see where that might have overridden a head-to-head result.

Of course, tonight's games throw all that out the window.
