Seeding wise, I guess it makes sense.

Lake Erie was "The Number 1 seed" of the region, getting the bye.  Even had they won their game their Gym isn't big enough to host and hence I think Fisher was destined to host from the beginning.

As Fisher Dynasty said on another page... This automatically means Fisher is on the way to the final 4...

Not so fast my friend....a team called Wooster may have something to say about that point.  :) :D

To the hosting team does not always go the spoils, as I have seen first hand, and many teams have seen in recent history.

The bottom line is fisher and bport both had very good seasons and i believe they are both 24-5? I cant complain that fisher got to host due to there record but there gym is another story. It might be a great place to play but to watch a game there is horrible. First off there is no parking, it is also a very small gym with a bad layout. You can sit in the stands and cant even see the sideline in front of you. Brockport has already gone into there house and come away with a W this year, and that was without parish and harris. Fisher got there revenge in the chase with a w over bport. Like the fisher coach said they have to play a game just like sat game to beat bport, i believe they shot about 65% from the field. Brockport has a huge advantage over fisher in the backcourt and overall has a more talented team. The game bport won at fisher bport lead almost the entire game and much of that was by double digits. The game fisher won was back and fourth and bport played pretty bad and still had a good chance to win.    Bport 79 fisher 70

Having seen both teams (SJF and BPORT) play against Plattsbugh within a two week period.

I agree with the SJF coach, SJF has to shoot over 50% to beat BPort unless BPort plays
terrible.   Bridgeport is quicker and in my opinion more athletic.   Sherrod Harris will score
at least 30 points.  SJF couldn't handle Anthony #11 on PBurgh and he didn't shoot 3 pts that
well on Saturday.  Harris single-handedly almost brought BPort back in the SUNYAC Championship
game.    I hope both teams play at full strength and get better officiating (more consistant and understandable calls)
than what was seen on Saturday's Round 2 game.    Bad for both teams and when the whistle was blown
it usually had everyone pausing to figure out what the call would be.

If Brockport beats SJF, would the BPort people fill the gym Saturday, or would Fisher's absence make it easier to get tickets for Saturday?

Going by my experience this week.   IF you are a support of the teams other than SJF and Fisher you better get there early on both days.   Unless they (NCAA and Fisher) follow through on reserving a group of tickets for ALL the schools, there is no-way that little gym holds enough to handle Brockport and Fisher fans who show up for the early game AND has room for the other schools.

I hear all these stories about how SJF fills the gym during the season, and this is NCAA playoffs.  One would assume they could fill it now.   And Brockport had a very good crowd at there on-campus gym for the SUNYAC final game.
If half of that crowd shows up and only half of the SJF regulars show up, the SJF gym is full.

The Rochester War Memorial may be free this coming weekend.  The High School State qualifier games have been moved out of there due to the big fight last night.    Nahhh, that would never happen, that would be too good of a solution.  A what, 10,000 seat arena with parking and concessions mid-way (almost  ;D) between two of the participating schools.   Near hotels.

Another thing could be that Wooster just has so much respect from the people that vote for D3hoops because of their program that they are continually voted high. The people that vote usually don't regard the East Region very high so it is actually funny that the NCAA ruled Fisher as the host.

The NCAA seedings never correlate with our rankings. The rankings are more accurate, though. :)

That seems to be all they are is 'stories'.  Judging from their attendance figures, Fisher is averaging less than 600 per game.  You'd think, seeing as 'this is the NCAA playoffs' you'd see better turnout???  Nope!  Listed attendance over both NCAA home games for Fisher over the weekend:  650 for both games?!  That's barely 50% capacity!  Compare that to Wooster's attendance over the weekend:  3,038 Friday night and 3,207 Saturday night and they averaged over 2,000 per game throughout the regular season.

The bottom line is that the NCAA really dropped the ball on this one!  Rewarding a team to host a sectional that can't even sell out a puny little 1200 seat gym in the NCAA tournament?!  Now, we as fans of the other schools involved in this sectional are rewarded with the possibility of not even having the opportunity to watch a game live because the games are being played in such a puny little gym and there might not be enough tickets to go around?! ???  Fisher needs to do the smart thing and clear the gym between sessions on Friday night!  They wanted the host, now they need to take responsibility and do the right thing even if it involves a little more work on their part!!!

FisherDynasty

ScotsFan i wouldnt worry about the gym being sold out, im sure there will be hundreds not getting into either game on friday and saturday.  The majority of the reason why the reg seasons dont get sold out is because the other e8 schools dont bring any fans in.  Last weekend fishers students were on break and neither team fisher played brought anyone and the gym was still full.  If you are smart you will get there early for the games this wkend and when you do play fisher get there over an hour early.  As Wooster, JCU and bport will all bring fans, its going to be a shame to watch all the people get rejected at the door.

There were more people at the U of R / Plattsburgh game than the other two.   Half the crowd left after the first game (U of R fans, students, pep band ...).       Clear the gym between games.    :D ::) :D   I don't see that occurring.
Especially if the weather is cold/snowy etc.   There is no place to herd the crowd out easily.    If other places are charging separately for both Friday games then wow, what a deal people got at SJF last Friday.  1 point buzzer beater game and a blow out by the home/host team.

Fanbase is not one of the criteria. Never has been -- ask the Hope and Calvin fans who went to higher seeded Aurora last week.

"...Last weekend fishers students were on break and neither team fisher played brought anyone and the gym was still full..."

That gym was NOT full either day.    Plattsburgh had close to 70 people on Friday, less on Saturday.   There were more assistant coaches on Fisher than fans from Wentworth. ;D   The U of R pep band took up double the space (15-20 members using two or three seats to setup and hold coats).    Down on the court level on Saturday most of the seats on the lobby side were not filled to capacity.  The first row across that entire side is always empty from what I understand.     IF all the seats that are in the arena are not used the host shouldn't be counting them toward the arena capacity figures.    No way under the configuation I saw does that little place hold over 1000.

If Brockport can bring the student section they had at the SUNYAC championship game, THEN the place might come close to being full.

FisherDynasty

The place is going to be sold out guaranteed, probably for both games seeing that Wooster brings fans, and i can guarantee Bport will bring more people then Pburg and wentworth. Also, more fisher students will be back from break.
