I'm going to question the credibility of d3hoops and their pole. First off, the two SIDs for the East Region that vote in the poll don't even pay attention to basketball. One is big hockey guy and other doesn't even go to games. How can you use them, that is ridiculous. WIth the top 25 poll, 1/3 of the teams didn't make the NCAA tourney and another 1/3 already has been eliminated, those are some impressive numbers. Pat, do you have something against the East Region?

Brockport is 5-1 against NESCAC school during their NCAA runs, who else can say that. And I do believe that Amherst is, as Williams fans like to say, "0 for Salem." Also, after hosting the Elite 8 game back in 2002, Brockport finished the poll at 13th, are you kidding me. That team might have been one of the most talented team, that faced a tough matchup in Rochester.

I finally was able to get that off my chest because this has been going on for a while, respect Brockport and the East Region. Just wait to see what Brockport has in store for next year

Are there not upsets in college basketball? Did I miss something? Did we start playing basketball on paper?

By the way, there are not two East Region SIDs on the men's panel. There's only one. Yes, it's more of a hockey school but I value voters with multi-regional expertise and this person has worked in three Division III regions in the past several years.

It is a hockey school and he doesn't even go to the basketball games. I'm sure you can find someone who has knowledge of basketball and actually goes to the games. Someone like Eric McDowell from Union would be perfect. He loves basketball and does a lot of research. Though, Union is a D1 hockey program, he has seen his fare share of good basketball teams after being at Brockport for a couple of years.

Liberty League already has a voter.

Please, don't tell me how to make up the voter panel. You don't seem to actually know who's on the panel in the first place.

FYI...

I just opened up a new topic in the Multi-Region room concerning this sectional.

It might make it easier for the followers of all 4 teams to discuss the tournament there; one-stop shopping.  ;D

Congrats to Brockport!! Good luck against Wooster.

Nice Job Pat on the call.

Thanks -- appreciate it coming from a former broadcaster.

Now, during the Whitmore Era at Brockport, he has made 3 Sweet 16s and 2 Elite Eights. That's a pretty impressive resume.  Is there any chance that they could get some national respect. I would love to make it to the game today but due to the long drive, I'm not going to be there supporting the East region and Brockport.

Hey Pat, any chance within the next couple of years of having a D3hoops Shootout with different regions playing each other similar to a game that is being played today. Take a couple of teams from each region and have them play each other on neutral floors.

Well, we kind of overestimate the current budget of the site but it does sound like a great idea. :)

Another SUNYAC Major College Coach we tend to forget.

Joe Jones, Columbia. The Long Island native was a four-year letterwinner at the State University of New York at Oswego. He graduated in 1987 with a degree in communications and earned his master's degree in counseling in 1989.

Final:  Wooster 94  Brockport State 87  OT

Tremendous game and a very fine performance by the Golden Eagles! :)  Brockport had a shot to win the game at the end of regulation so Wooster is fortunate to get the win tonight.

Wooster was led tonight by James Cooper who had an unbelievable performance with 34 points!   Tim Vandervaart had 17 points, Brandon Johnson had 13 points, Tom Port had 12 points (12 boards) and Devin Fulk chipped in 10 points.

Brockport State was led by Sherod Harris with 26 points and Brandon Williams with 21 points.  These two guys are incredible players! :)  Also for Brockport, Mychal Wilkes had 12 points, Aaron Poles contributed 10 points and Cantrel Parish chipped in 9 points.

With all their starters returning, Brockport will be a very tough team next year!

Congratulations to Brockport State on a terrific season!

Wow, amen to that.  Brockport has an excellent, excellent basketball team.  I was very impressed with the whole team, but especially Harris and Williams.  It took everything Wooster had to give to somehow pull his one out.  I believe Brockport is the best team we faced this year, and I'm certain that they deserve to be ranked fairly high in the top 25 poll.

I know it's a cliche, but it's true: it's really a shame that either team had to lose tonight.  Congratulations to the Golden Eagles on a great team and a great season.

And congratulations to the Brockport fans, too--you really had the house rocking tonight.   :)

Good job on a great season Bport you made all of us fans proud!!!!  Everyone who watched that game last night realizes you were just as good as the team you played. Many teams would have packed it in after giving up an 11 pt lead and going down by 11. Returning your top 13 players and making this nice run who knows you might receive a couple votes in the honorable mention top 25. The polls are fun for the fans but its pretty obvious they mean nothing. Good job to all the coaches and players you were a pleasure to watch all season..

Pat Coleman

No offense, bports, but if Brockport didn't do enough before the tournament to prove they were a Top 25 team it would be hard for us to take it on faith.

Interestingly, the Massey Ratings before this weekend's games have Brockport at No. 28. The computers didn't think much of Brockport's resume either.

Will be interesting to see what this team is without Sherod Harris for the first semester next year -- he has just one semester of eligibility left. They will remain a challenge for the voters to deal with.
