with age came?

Great to be back online.  Shout out to magic and others.  Happy to see the Lakers doing well. 2 OT loss and 1 point loss to SLU keeping them out of the rankings it would appear.  I am very happy for coach Stockwell.  I really respected the guy when he coached the Golden Knights up north and he has obviously has a potential All-American in Burridge.  The guy can play.

And out of the clear blue of the western sky comes "with age". Saw you made a comment on the LL board as well. You need to spend more time here. I miss your imput. Just cause your boy is done playing doesn't mean you have to ignore us. ;)

Welcome back Age.

I see that the weatherman has a fine North Country greeting for our western NY Invaders.  Temps dropping rapidly, low tonite around 0, Daytime hi tomorrow in the single digits, and overnite low Saturday in the minus teens.  Should be a fun return trip Saturday evening through the Watertown-Rochester Snow Belt with those temps.

We have the full spectrum of events in Maxcy Hall this weekend, Swimming, M&W BB, and Men's Hockey Tonight, M&W BB and M&W Hockey tomorrow.  Should be a busy place, but students are just starting to return now.

Wow..sounds like a heat wave up there Bear (compared to Standard Buffalo weather)! Should I bring some marshmellows for roasting this evening? :D Hopefully the BENGALS can turn up the heat and Potsdam is a little more hospital to these "WNY Invaders" than they were to Geneseo and Brockport when they visited the "north country" 2 weekends ago! ;)

Actually being a Buffalo native, have to say Buffalo has more snow, BUT Potsdam is MUCH Colder, plus you have to drive through 200 miles of Lake Effect to get here.

My Dad was Buff State '50.

Wish both teams well, but would like my Bears to continue to protect the house.

Bengalsrule,
What am I chopped liver? I'm still waiting for the answer to my question from yesterday. Are you coming up north this weekend? I see hints that you are but nothing
that definitively says, I will be there. ???

Since you're posting at 3:14 PM in Buffalo,I assume, I don't think you'll be making an 8 PM tipoff in Potsdam. Wimped out it looks like. :o

Full slate of games on tap for tonight.

Oneonta State   @   New Paltz State      8:00 PM
These Red Dragons and the Hawks duke it out for sole possession of 4th place and a chance for the winner to move into sole possession of 2nd place if both Plattsburgh and Brockport lose. Oneonta, with only 1 road win all year, is tough to pick so I'll take New Paltz 80-75

Cortland State   @   Brockport State      8:00 PM
The other Red Dragons have shown they can win on the road,  but the wins have been few and far between. Now with the loss of 2 double digit scorers, the odds of Cortland making the playoffs just got longer. Golden Eagles win tonight 73-64

Buffalo State   @   Potsdam State      8:00 PM
Winner of this game moves up a notch in the pecking order. This is a Buff State team that has to start playing up to it's potential sometime. Team should have at the most 1 loss. Too much talent here for the Bears to handle. Hope I'm wrong but think the Bengals sleep well tonight with an 79-72 victory.

Fredonia State   @   Plattsburgh State      8:00 PM
Cardinals are another team that hasn't met expectations. Both losses in the conference were a result of poor 2nd half play and the inability to come back from single digit deficits. The big shotmakers aren't hitting the big shots. Plattsburgh needs 2 W's this weekend if they hope to stay with Oswego and keep their hopes alive for home court advantage in the playoffs. Blue Devils yet to log a road win. Cards 85-71.

Oswego State   @   Geneseo State      8:00 PM
Lakers have to avoid looking ahead to Brockport game tomorrow. Geneseo looking to gain a playoff spot. Blue Knights will have to keep looking though because Burridge and company will be too much handle. Oswego wins 74-61.

No kidding! You're right on time. Should put you in Potsdam right about 7:30. Watertown is my old stomping grounds. Born and raised in that area and lived there for 2 years in the early 70's.  Tomorrow afternoon go to the Cardinals bench and look up to the very top row. I'll wear my red Saratoga hat so I'll be easy to spot. I 'll probably get there early and catch the 2nd half of the women's game. College still not in session so the crowd won't be more than a couple of hundred for the men's game.

Bengalsrule,
When you get to the Potsdam gym go to the scorers table and ask for the bear. He may be working the women's game. Or somebody there can direct you to his seat. I believe he always sits in the same spot. Us old farts are creatures of habit.

Alas - I left halfway through the women's game.  Wife wasn't feeling well, I am still jet lagged from 10 days in California, and since I didn't have to work tonight, I went home to keep an eye on her.  Will be the statcrew spotter tomorrow afternoon

Did follow on livestats, Barnburner of a game.  Bears still undersized, and playing 2 freshman at the five, but they can compete with any team in the league.
Wish they could control their turnovers, as that would take some of the pressure off of Pierce and Williams on the boards.  Pierce (6'2") is averaging 8.5 rpg and williams (6'0") grabs 7.5.

Sorry I missed you Bear. When I arrived i immediatly asked a rather hefty fello, who was the announcer for the mens game, if he knew thebear. He proudly responded yes. He looked behind himself into the bleachers and assumed that you were watching the hockey game vs. Brockport. I must admit that Mackey hall is quite the sportscomplex.

Great game! Potsdam hit a 3 with less than 2 seconds for the final margin!

I'll be looking towards the last row tommorrow around 4pm! ;)
