Cortland continues torrid play with 81-59 hammering of Oneonta at home. Bit of payback. Oneonta on Jan. 25 had Corts in 43-24 halftime hole but saw Dragons rally for late lead before bowing 67-61. No OState comeback here from 20 point intermission deficit. Corts by 28 late. Shoot 9x17 in 3s. J. Smith 18 pts(7x11fg, 4x7 3s); J. Winter 16 pts(6x13fg, 4x7 3s); K. McMahon 14 pts(6x12fg); H. Hefele 13 pts(5x7fg), 6 rebs; J. Connolly 12 pts(4x7fg). Just four turnovers. Oneonta's D. Hahn 13 pts, 15 rebs. Impressive!!

Plattsburgh wins a tight one at Potsdam 51-48. Tied at 48 with 2 minutes to go Plattsburgh gains the lead when Carl Munnerlyn hits 1st of 2 free throws with 1:06 to play. Plattsburgh gets the rebound off the 2nd free throw but turns it over with 40 seconds left. Potsdam misses field goal attempt to go ahead with 11 seconds remaining, gets offensive board but turns it over with 7 seconds left. Bears foul Chris Ruiz who makes them both to give Cards some breathing room. Bears turn it over and fail to get final shot. Cards Errol Daniyan is the game's leading scorer with 16 points (7x9 fg, 2x4 ft). Errol just missed a double-double as he grabbed 9 rebounds. Chris Ruiz was the only other Plattsburgh player in double figures with 10 points. The Bears were led by Curtis Pierce and Anthony Williams who scored 10 points each. Neither team shot very well, and both had numerous turnovers,(18 for Plattsburgh, 14 for Potsdam). Plattsburgh held a narrow edge on the boards, 36-35.

Cardinals remain in 2nd place as Buffalo St. is beating Brockport by a 91-75 score with less than 2 minutes remaining.

Oswego game just went final and the Lakers beat New Paltz 68-57.

Geneseo defeats Fredonia by a score of 50-41.    Abe Miller leads the Blue Knights with 18 points (8x13 fg, 2x4 ft)and is the only player on either team in double figures. Much like the Plattsburgh-Potsdam game. Both teams shot poorly and they had 18 turnovers each. Geneseo won the rebounding battle 31-24.

Buffalo State with a big win on the road at Brockport 96-83 to once again beat the Golden Eagles by double figures. The game between Buffalo St. and Plattsburgh on Friday just got a lot more meaningful.

I couldnt have said it better myself, Magicman. ;)

As far as the game went...If the BENGALS dont have 30 turnovers and miss 17 free throws... then they would have scored about 130 points! I need say no more about that game. Onto the Arena and a Friday meeting with the Cards!!!!

Yeah Magic, it was an UGLY barnburner.

Bears had the ball down one with 16.6 left and 10 left on the shot clock, got off at least three shots, but none hit the rim.  Shot clock violation, Bears foul Ruiz on the inbound, and he is clutch.  Bears get the ball back down 3 with 5.4 left , but turn it over.

The unbelievably with 1.2 left, Ponesse throws the safety valve out of bounds without touching anyone.  Bears inbound with 1.2 left, Ruiz knocks the Potsdam player out of his shoes outside of the arc, but no call.

Plattsburgh has SO MUCH talent, hard to believe they have lost 5 games in conference...

Potsdam was without .538 3pt shooter Eddie Cross who was ill.  In a 3pt game, can't discount that.

The Bears and Cards shuffle off to Buffalo this weekend.

New Paltz hangs with the Lakers for most of the 1st half and has a 4 point lead at 20-16 with 8 minutes remaining.
A jumper by Chris Gilkes and a long range bomb by Conor Monaghan ignite a 15-4 run to close out the half and the Lakers never trailed after that. Up 31-24  at the break they stretch it to double figures early in the 2nd period and other than 1 time when the Hawks cut it to 8 at the 12:18 mark the Lakers were in control. The lead grew to 16 on several occasions as Oswego just took care of business. Chad Burridge once again was the game's high scorer with 14 points (4x13 fg, 0x1 3's, 6x6 ft) an honor he shared with Shareef Taylor of the Hawks (5x11 fg, 0x1 3's, 4x6 ft). Burridge added 10 rebounds to notch a double-double, the only player to do so. Chris Gilkes was 6x6 from the field to total 12 points and Conor Monaghan added 11(3x6 fg, 2x3 3's, 3x5 ft). In addition to Taylor, Matt Devine scored 12 points (4x10 fg, 2x3 3's, 2x2 ft) for the Hawks and Harris Wichard added 10.(3x10 fg, 2x5 3's, 2x2 ft) New Paltz committed 18 turnovers to 13 for the Lakers but the Hawks won the rebounding war 42 to 39.
Lakers move to 15-1 in the SUNYAC and becomes the 1st team in the East Region to reach 20 victories as they improve to 20-3.

I wish the Plattsburgh-Buffalo St. game was on Saturday. We are at a distinct disadvantage having to play the Bengals fresh off the bus. When you came North at least you got a night's sleep before you played the Cards. :P
I think the Card's could be in for a rough day.
