You're welcome "Champ". Now that's a nickname that really fits you this year!! 8-) Plus K. Hope you get a good draw on Monday. I'll be watching the show.

P.S. You need to send me a Personal Message and tell me how and when you got that nickname. ;D

Congrats to the Bengals!! Hopefully the Eagles will get an ECAC bid--They have alot of returners and with some selective recruiting should be very competitive in the future. Enjoy the weather up their fellows--80 and sunny today!!!

Thanks for the congrats Scooter!

U r right about the Eagles future. Green ( my choice for POY and the only SUNYAC player ranked in the top 10 in 4 of the 5 categories (8th in Scoring,  1st in Blocks,  3rd in Steals, Assists and 3rd in Rebounds) that SUNYAC uses to determine thier All SUNYAC Team. Ivy, the 2nd toughest slasher we've seen this season (after Purcell of ELMS). Klein the SUNYAC assist leader and Williams the SUNYACs #1 scorer... round out a nucleus that should make your Eagles a a VERY tough team to beat next year! ;)

Magicman, thebear, JDEX ...etc. Any predictions on the final Regional rankings for the East, which come out later today?? ??? ???

thebear

Here is My guess:

1 Oswego State (Pool C) 22-3 22-3 Def  Potsdam Lost to Brockport 23-4 23-4 (Beat Buff State twice)
2 Rochester (AQ POOL A UAA) 19-3 20-4 L to Emory 19-4 20-5
3 Buffalo State (AQ Pool A SUNYAC) 15-6 18-6 d Cortland d Plattsburgh d Brockport 18-6 21-6
4 Ithaca 19-5 20-5 Lost to St.John Fisher 19-6 20-6
5 Hobart 19-5 19-6 L to Hamilton 19-6 19-7
6 Stevens 19-6 19-6 L to Hartwick 19-7 19-7

Also
Skidmore (AQ  LL Pool A) 18-8 18-9
St. John Fisher or Hartwick (AQ  E8 Pool A)
Wells (East) or PS – Harrisburg (AQ NEAC Pool A)

With the Upsets in New England and NJ, I can see Elms (Springfield) moved to the East, I can see W. Conn moved to the East, I can see Ramapo moved to the East, all of these teams are above Ithaca/Hobart in the pecking order.

If Fisher & Wells win, my guess, given the NCAA's interest in keeping costs low is that  there will be a four team pod of Buff State, Rochester, Fisher & Wells at Rochester.

I don't think they will put Buff State and Oswego in the same bracket.  That happened in 03-04 when the Bears beat Reg season champ Brockport, Brockport stayed in Region and Potsdam got sent to the PS-Behrend  Buffalo is very close to Erie.

Buff State could easily be slid to the Great Lakes or Middle Atlantic (Wooster, PS-Behrend or LaRoche)

I could see Skidmore at Oswego, with two teams (Ramapo & W Ct. or Middlebury) moved into the region.

Can't wait for tomorrow!!

Good stuff there bear!. Couple of questions about the "potential " Rochester Pod.
A - I thought that I read somewhere that Rochester could not host a first round ( men) if their #1 ranked women hosted a first round. Not sure where I saw that ( and I'm too tired to scroll back through everything now). Do you know if that is trrue?
B- is there anyway that Buff State could host a pod if Rochester is ineligible for the first round? ???

Bengalsrule,
I said that about Rochester yesterday. The women have priority in the odd numbered years to host the first round. Don't know if the NCAA will give the Rochester women a home game but they are the top team in the East.

I'd be surprised if they gave Buffalo a home game. You can dream though! ;) :D

with age came?

Would suspect that Oswego would get a "pod" prior to Buff State. Only 4 losses all year by a total of 11 points.  We will know tomorrow.  I suspect that Skidmore will travel east to New England and possibly face an Amherst or the like.  Buff State may have a better time of it and go face a Penn St - Behrend but they better pray they do not get a Wooster match up.  That would be tough. ::)

thebear

Based on the outcomes, Hartiwick, Wells, Rochester at Oswego would be low cost and Make sense.  I think Buff State will play Behrend in the first round, then on to Wooster in the Second.  Bengals have the atlhleticism and talent to challenge anyone Mitchell, Carr, 2 Simmons & Cartwright can play with anyone in a six game series.  Suspect Skidmore will draw Williams in the first round, as they are only an hour away!

Knight Slappy also projecting Ithaca into the field, although with Stevens AD on the selection committee, that may not happen.

Ithaca could of course easily go to a pod at Behrend with Buff State and LaRoche.

Pat is acknowledging what we've known all along. The Bengals have a solid team that can play with just about anyone. They seem to be hitting their best stride now when it matters most. Hopefully that will continue and they make a nice run in the tournament. They have a number of players that can be go to guys and can beat you one on one. But they need to be a little more disciplined, especially when they get a lead. When they push the ball upcourt, there are times when they need to set up the half court offense and forget about hoisting up a three so early in the possession. The strong point of the Bengals is that anyone of their starting five can torch you for 20 points. With 4 starters averaging double figures its no wonder the team is averaging 83 ppg for the season. Their winning streak of 11 straight is currently one of the nations longest and they have averaged 83 ppg in that streak as well. I just hope they get a favorable draw in trhe first round.
